We purchased for our sons 7th birthday. Ever though he is under the suggested age range it is not an issue. He loves anything on 2 wheels and enjoys speeding over bombs and lumps with ease on this scooter. It folds super easy with a press of a few buttons and is solid either folder or in use. My only complaint is he struggles with the breaking bar as it is very stiff but it is suggested for 12 and up. It does give him an excuse to not slowdown though. His previous scooter was the 3 wheeled micro scooter that he has still been sharing with his much younger brother until this purchase.
