I have looked at other stools and chairs for the bath or shower but they all seem sooo big. My shower stall is small, 26" x 34". I wanted something that would provide a "sometimes" chair without making it impossible for me to stand. (No, I don't want to have to open the door in the middle of my shower to move a chair into and out of the stall.)This stool fits the bill quite nicely. It has a very small footprint, 12-1/4" square, with a 12-1/2" seat which doesn't sound very big but is large enough to be comfortable. (I didn't want some dinky little thing. To be politically correct, I am somewhat "vertically challenged." I will be perfectly height/weight proportionate just as soon as I grow another 12 to 14 inches.) When sitting on it, the stool feels quite stable and secure, not wobbly or insubstantial at all.The stool arrives in pieces: seat, legs and "screws." The "screws" have an expanded "wing-nut-type" head - easily grippable - ensuring easy assembly even for someone with little hand strength. The height adjusts easily and a bit higher than some other stools which makes it easier to get up and down. It was easy to put together and was immediately put in use. Our shower stall is rather small, but this fit and hasn't come out since we received it. The description on Amazon indicated it was rated at 350# and I just wish the manufacturer had included a leaflet verifying this claim. However, it does seem sturdy and we are glad we bought it.Update - July 2013: My husband was under the stated weight limit but the stool legs still shifted and is now untrustworthy. They should not have bent.
