They have foam on the outside to provide a nice and snug fit and I can't see any way that they could damage the vehicle or cause weird wear marks, etc. Not only can they be removed easily by pushing them up from underneath, they also have a removable non-skid liner inside on the bottom. Finally have a place for my phone instead of the cup-holder! Everyone that drives a Volvo knows there is limited "cubby" space and these will certainly help! Will not fit in the back doors of an XC60 as those handles are a different shape than the front doors.
