I'm writing a review because there was near zero information on how to do this. I upgraded the controller in my workstation from an LSI 9260-8i to a 9361-8i. I wanted to add more internal and external drives as part of the upgrade. This expander was listed as a supported expander for the new array controller. The upgrade is simple: install the expander in an open slot, connect array controller to the expander using the included cables (yes, two are included with the expander which would have been good to know since it's not listed on the product description, so I wasted money on buying and returning them). Connect the array ports to ports F and G on the expander, then connect your drive cables to the other ports. You can now have 20 drives inside the chassis and a minimum of 8 external (more depending on the external chassis you go with). No drivers or configuration needed. Plug in and you are done. Works great. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Top Expander Funktioniert mit einem Adaptec 8885 Raid Controller einwandfrei *by S***L on Reviewed in Germany on 10 April 2015* Ich habe diesen SAS Expander für ein JBOD gekauft. Geplant war die Nutzung eines Adaptec 8885 Raid Controllers, den Controller sowie den SAS Expander habe ich Extern über ein SFF-8644 Kabel verbunden womit dank SAS 3 eine Bandbreite von bis zu ca. 4,8 GB pro Sekunde zur Verfügung steht. Daher ist es auch kein Problem SSDs im JBOD Gehäuse zu verwenden. Momentan nutze ich aber nur SATA 2 und SATA 3 Laufwerke diese werden an des Raid Controller einwandfrei durchgereicht.Auch die beiden Mitgelieferten SFF-8643 Kabel sind super da man somit den SAS Expander auch sofort intern Nutzen könnte und direkt mit dem Raid Controller verbinden könnte.
