The UVicator sensor changes color as the hard hat is exposed to UV light. The sun’s UV rays can cause a hard hat shell to become brittle and compromise its ability to protect the wearer. With the UVicator sensor, the hard hat should be replaced when the sun-smart sensor changes from red to white. Vents built into the hard hat release heat buildup and allow air circulation to enhance comfort of the worker. The cooling effect of air circulation helps reduce perspiration in hot and humid working environments. A 4-point ratchet suspension adjusts easily to allow for a customized height and fit that best suits the individual who wears the hard hat. The ratchet system allows tightening or loosening the fit without taking the hard hat off. Workers wearing this hard hat will also appreciate its low profile design and balanced fit, which provide for a more comfortable and less obtrusive feel. A short brim allows for upward visibility, a feature that can enhance both safety and productivity. The soft brow pad cushions the forehead and is removable for easy replacement. For added versatility, the hard hat features accessory slots to accommodate 3M’s cap mounted ear-muffs, headgear, faceshields, and welding helmets (all sold separately). A hard hat is commonly worn in these industries: heavy and light industrial, construction, oil and gas, road work, forestry, and mining. This hard hat meets requirements of ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2009 Type 1, Class C. The hat may be worn in either the forward or reverse donning position. Hat weighs 12.8 ounces. The rigid shell of the 3M Hard Hat H-700 Series helps reduce chances of injury by deflecting small falling objects from striking the head of the person who wears this protective headgear. The hard hat also helps protect from injuries due to bumping into stationary objects such as pipes, rods, shafts, construction timbers, branches, or exposed electrical conductors. The suspension system inside the hard hat helps absorb the effects of the impact to dissipate the force. Even small objects can cause significant injury due to the force built up from the momentum of falling. Something as small as a washer or coin can strike with the force of several pounds if it falls far enough. 3M hard hats reduce the impact if a strike occurs. Has anybody done this?** A: Yes. There's a single middle strap that you can get separately. The middle strap clips in and runs from side to side inside the hard hat. **Q: Is this hard hat type1 classE ?** A: Thanks for your question. Yes, this is a a Type 1, Class E Hardhat. Thanks! **Q: I have a 7.75 hat size, will this fit a large?** A: The inner band is easily adjusted to fit any size. I have about a 7.25 hat size and I can make it large enough to fit it over a baseball hat or a stretch knit hat for when it's cold out (like today!). It should easily fit a 7.75. The adjustment is very simple and takes just a fraction of a second. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice helmet *by on Reviewed in the United States July 29, 2015* Love it! Rides high on my head, due to the design, but who cares about looks when you get head protection from low hanging branches. This helmet is light in weight and so comfortable to wear. I really like the handle which allows you to adjust the band so as to fit the helmet snuggly on your head. The royal blue color is as depicted in the photos. So nice to have ventilation, unlike my old helmet. Be sure to watch the video on how to install the band. This can be confusing until you watch the video from other customers or on You Tube. Great buy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Strong, comfortable, large size range! *by on Reviewed in the United States October 26, 2014* This product was exactly what I needed to do work in the exposed-beam attic in our house. I like the color being a botanist (think chlorophyll!). Having had a few bumps and scrapes and even slivers in my head, it was an overdue purchase. This is light in weight but strong. The suspension keeps the plastic away from your scalp for evaporation and good skin "breathing." The adjustments were fairly easy, but did take a few moments to assemble. The adjustment knob is simple to operate, and it allows you to have it on loosely or snugly as you wish. I does seem to have a very large size range. I'm 7 7/8 (huge) size so it was nice that it accomodates my head and even larger sizes! I don't know what the Uvicator Sensor is all about...but it won't matter for me...I'm wearing it indoors! Highly recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good hat for the price *by on Reviewed in the United States July 11, 2014* I am very pleased with this hat for the price. I wanted something to keep in my emergency kit in case of bad weather, along with a little food and water, some light sticks, a whistle and a few other things. The hat was easy to assemble, once you figure out that you have to fold the tabs and insert them in the slots on the hat... it's almost like you are pulling them backwards into place. After reading some other reviews, I thought it was going to take me all night, but I had it put together in 3 or 4 minutes. The adjustment knob is great for securing it or removing it from your head. If you want a basic ventilated hard hat, it's a good choice. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.de/products/1994759-hard-hat-white-lightweight-vented-uv-indicator-adjustable-4-point](https://www.desertcart.de/products/1994759-hard-hat-white-lightweight-vented-uv-indicator-adjustable-4-point) --- *Product available on Desertcart Germany* *Store origin: DE* *Last updated: 2026-11-08*
