Has anyone had an actuarial flashback and how did it do?** A: These type fittings are brass against brass and need to be tightened snugly to make them not leak. Use a light soapy solution to check for any bubbles that form in the soapy water. If bubbles appear , tighten a little more. Don't use teflon tape. The seal is not on the thread area, but in the brass "ball and socket" area of the fittings. These flash back arestors are for mounting on the tank, not at the torch. Avoid flashbacks at all costs. The can be fatal. **Q: Are these arrestors UL approved?** A: I don’t believe these spark arrestors are UL approved. Nor do I think they would need UL approval. The design is simple, and they work. Cheap insurance. I wouldn’t crack open a bottle with out them. **Q: The flow seems to be backwards on the arrestors I recieved. How to I fit to my torch?** A: Well ,they only install one way ,male and female fittings. If gas flows out your torch they are working correctly ! **Q: I bought a victor medalist 350 acetylene torch set. do i need a cga-510 to cga-300 adapter if i use this arrestor?** A: I used them on my standard size 9/16th ("B") regulators. Just buy the adapters at the same time to be sure.
