**Q: How short can you make the chain?**
A: Pretty short.  Ours  hangs only about 8 inches

**Q: Is this bright enough to light a dining room?  Can it be practically flush mounted?**
A: We put natural daylight bulbs in ours and our kitchen has never been brighter.  I'm not sure about completely flush.  We have ours only hanging down 3 links on the chain.  We could have reduced it to 1 link. Lots of compliments from everyone who sees our kitchen.

**Q: I have a floresent light i want to relace - the wiring is not centered - so i need a light that can be hooked up on end - not center can I use this li**
A: You would probably have to had electrical wire added, I don't think the light will have enough wire to still hook up to your existing wire.  It is a beautiful light!! we love ours

**Q: Can this go almost flush to the ceiling?**
A: No, but I shortened the chain to one link looks great
