So when I took a chance on these scissors I feared (because of the price) that I was breaking my mom’s rule. But they had good reviews, so I gave them a shot, and I’m very glad I did. First I do a lot of leather work and leather is hard on scissors. I was dawn to these because of their steel construction. This means they can rust and must be maintained with oil, but it also means the blades should hold their edge under use a little better. Out of the box the scissors were impressive. They are well constructed, easily adjustable, and comfortable. My current projects are in nylon rather than leather, but the scissors preform beautifully. Very smooth, straight cuts. I can’t speak to the longevity of the blades yet, but I can say that my previous scissors which I wore out after nearly two decades of use, cost three time the price of these scissors and cut no better out of the box. Will these scissors last 20 years? Will they hold up to resharpening when necessary? I can’t yet answer these questions, but if they don’t, I’ll still have saved enough money to buy two more pairs.
