## Questions & Answers

A: Outside Wi-Fi range, it acts as a portable Bluetooth speaker. Within Wi-Fi range, it acts as a smart speaker that you can control with just your voice through Alexa or Google Assistant.

**Q: What music services can I use with the Bose Portable Smart Speaker?**
A: You can play popular music services like Amazon Music, Spotify and Pandora anywhere you’ve got Wi-Fi. Everywhere else, you can use Bluetooth to listen to anything your mobile phone or tablet can play. Apple users can also use AirPlay 2.

**Q: How does the Bose Portable Smart Speaker compare to the Bose Home Speaker 300 and Bose Home Speaker 500?**
A: The Portable Smart Speaker is wireless and water resistant, while the Home Speaker 300 and 500 aren’t. The Portable Smart Speaker and the Home Speaker 300 have comparable acoustic performance, while the Home Speaker 500 has even better sound.

**Q: How does this speaker compare to the Bose SoundLink Revolve+?**
A: Both are Bluetooth speakers, but only the Portable Smart Speaker works via Wi-Fi, too. Only the Portable Smart Speaker has built-in voice assistants. The Portable Smart Speaker has a shorter battery life, however, but more powerful sound.

**Q: Can I make or take calls from the Bose Portable Smart Speaker?**
A: Yes. With Alexa only, you can make or take calls to Bose smart products, Amazon Echo products, and anyone in your contacts list. To call products, both parties must have this feature set up and be on Wi-Fi.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very impressed...after a factory reset
*by N***L on 12 July 2022*

Once I got over the teething issues this is an amazing speaker! I won't go on about the sound etc, because everyone else has. All I'll add is than my son's have 2 versions of the smaller but similar shaped Bose speakers. They agree this one sounds the best and want to swap with me (but I'm not going for that!). The only problem I had was that saying "Alexa" worked fine while the speaker was on, but the wake word would not get the speaker out of standby. I swapped to Google Assistant and had the same issue. So, I removed the Alexa account, disabled the Bose skill and performed a full factory reset (instructions all on-line). After that it just worked! I like that I don't have to use bluetooth and can stream via Spotify Connect or Google Cast. As it's a speaker in the kitchen (for the family, though strictly it's mine!) so it means I can start playing something from Spotify or steam radio stations via Alexa and then remember to take the dog for a walk without the music stopping while I'm gone. When I've lost the battle of who decides what we listen to the kids tend to use bluetooth to connect (they say it's quicker). Sound quality is brilliant whichever we use.
