**Q: Can i lay a table top on the base without attaching?  it's for home staging.  need easy set up/break down/moving.  only using for show/decor.**
A: You could, but if anybody touches it, it will fall off. The top is pretty small.  Maybe just put 2 screws in?

**Q: Will this base work with a 36-inch round, 1-inch thick pine table, like the ones they sell at Lowe's?**
A: It should. I have a 36" round synthetic top that's probably about the same weight as a wood top.

The base is fine and was exactly what I needed for the top I prepared. BUT.... shipping was terrible. Both boxes were broken on arrival, and I found some loose screws and a nut in one box - not even in a plastic package. Fortunately the parts needed to put the two pieces together made it to me, but I had to use my own screws to fasten the top. Bottom line - product is sturdy and as advertised, but be prepared to provide your own hardware.
