Usually steel and alloy wheels are either lacquered or painted. These coatings protect the metallic surface from corrosion and provide attractive finishes to automotive wheels. It reacts the fastest I've ever seen in a wheel cleaner. It tackles the iron and ferrous metals very hard and cleans your wheels fast. This is the product you'd want to use to clean out very very messy rims or areas where scrubbing with dish soap just won't do. EDIT: I have changed my mind to a 5 star. Although the smell is horrendous, you'll get used to it quite fast. Think of a salon where they used too much dye. The smell will linger in whatever room you put it in. WEAR GLOVES! The smell will stay on you for quite some time regardless if you wash it off or not. If you're sensitive in smell, this might make you queasy. If you can overlook the smell OR acclimate to it, this will be the perfect cleaning product for wheels. Just one slight problem for USA buyers--the product isn't cheap to purchase.
