Review: Rusting Away From The Inside Out - My 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 201,000 miles is literally systematically falling apart, but I won't give up on her. She hit 200K with no major problems or repairs, only basic maintenance. However, now much has been replaced in the engine, radiator, alternator, battery, the entire exhaust system, catalytic converter which includes all four oxygen sensors, muffler and tail pipe. Next will be new tires. Her body is in great shape, paint has the same luster but rust from Chicago winters and street salt has taken it's toll on her body from the inside out. Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Platinum has hopefully reversed the rust problem. Very easy to use and apply, and once dry it appears to restore the metal with a nice smooth barrier between metal and primer. I'm so looking forward to seeing the results from all the winter salt from driving and parking in the streets next spring. I have a strong positive hunch Eastwood Rust Encapsulator will do it's job. So far, so good!!

**Q: After application do you still need to paint with something else, or can the aluminum finish be left?**
A: Platinum is UV stable and dries rock solid. It does not need to be top-coated further, however you certainly can if you would like to but its not necessary to do.

**Q: I want to seal weld seams and entire floor pans. I want to seal weld seams with duraglass fiberglass filler. Should I fill first or encapsulate first?**
A: The directions only address painting metal. So I would encapsulate first.

**Q: Can this be used on home heating radiators?**
A: not sure. it does dry up and make a barrier. but not sure how it would do under heat.

**Q: Is it true this paint is not multi-use?  I keep reading ppl saying it's one and done because you cannot reopen the lid?**
A: Yes and no.  If you leave any residue, it will seal itself up and thusly be very difficult to reopen.  I wipe the can clean with solvent to ensure re-use.

Great coating for metal. Only requires minimum prep. However San lasted trailer and applied two coats covered wit rustolem. Works great
