Works perfect! **Q: Besides the Variflow backwash valve, what else do I need to install it on an existing pool pipe?** A: I bought a Hayward DE3620 and a Hayward SP0715XR50 Valve. The filter already has all the grids inside. All I needed besides those products was 2" PVC, unions, elbows, PVC glue, PVC cleaner, teflon tape, etc. Because the inputs and outputs were placed differently from the old filter, I had to reroute some PVC. I kept my old pool pump and all the feature/skimmer valves and chlorinator. In shipment, the filter came with a cracked pressure guage bezel, as it was pretty roughly handled, so I had to buy another one at a pool supply store. They are very common so that was not a problem, but I did not want to wait and hassle with RMA. I recommend you check the filter unit as soon as they deliver it and refuse it if they have damaged it. I was lucky it was only a $10.00 fix for me. **Q: The de2420 installation instructions mention o-rings for the two connections from the valve.
