Review: Works great with my 42" Hunter Mayfield 5-blade flush mount ceiling fan - This little remote is super easy to wire up. There is a black and a white wire coming from one end of the receiver to connect to the ceiling's wires, (and in this old house we only have two wires coming from the ceiling). Then the other end of the receiver has the wires that connect to the ceiling fan and they are color coded to match perfectly, so no thinking or guessing is involved. The only thing is, the receiver does not fit between the bracket attached to the ceiling, and the other bracket that holds the ceiling fan, but it's easy to secure it by threading a long plastic tie through there and snugging it up against the brackets... then the motor housing easily slides over all, making it a good fit. Just leave the yellow antenna wire peeking out the top of the housing. One thing to remember.... the pull chains for the light must be pulled to the on position, and the fan pull chain must be pulled three times to put it in the fastest position, in order for the remote to control them. I forgot about the fan's pull chain and nearly took the entire thing apart thinking the wiring somewhere must have come loose when I shoved it all up in the brackets, as the remote would only control the light, not the fan.... NOPE... just forgot to pull the chain for the fan! And make sure your wall switch is turned on - And you cannot use a dimmer wall switch with some fans. Like the model I got. A dimmer switch will make the fan hum loudly. I had to install a regular light switch and then it worked perfectly and is completely silent. And on that note, this remote does not include a dimmer feature. The light is either on or off. That's fine with me because if I want low light I don't use the ceiling light anyway.
Review: Easy to hook up and works great - So the house we bought has a very nice ceiling fan light combo. But there was no way to turn on the fan, just the light. Opened up the cowl at the top to see if there was an existing control but no. So this looked like it would work and was less expensive than a brand new remote control ceiling fan (although I really liked the tropical palm fans). Another discovery I made was the ceiling fan had two levels of bulbs including 4 hidden above the fan. Those never turned on. So installed the control. Hot and neutral on the input. Output has separate wires for fan and lights and neutral and an antenna to receive the RF control signal. So the color of the wires on the ceiling fan actually matched the color code on the control box. How rare is that? But there was a yellow wire from the fan left over which I traced to the top hidden bulbs with an ohmmeter. OK so connected the two sets of lights together and powered it up. All ok. Lights turn on right away when you turn on the wall switch. Think of that as your master control. You leave the room and you can turn off the lights and fan both. The control remote has separate buttons for the light (not dimmable) and the fan (3 speeds). It also has a timer you can set for 1 to 8 hours but I'm not sure how you would use that function. I only want to have light and be cool for X hours then darkness and no fan? IDK. The antenna needs to stick out beyond the metal cowl or it wont receive the signal from the RF remote. I didn.t like the yellow color against the ceiling so I trimmed it and added about 8 inches to match the color of the ceiling. Now its unnoticeable. They were smart and capped off the antenna with a little blob of plastic so you dont try to hook it up to an AC line (very tempting as I had an extra yellow wire and the antenna was yellow but I resisted that temptation. All works, I have LED bulbs on the way to replace the 240 watts of incandescent bulbs it had and its happy camper time.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the remote unique to each unit. I want to buy multiple for more fans in the house. I don’t want one remote to operate another room. Need individual**
A: Yes, the signal between receiver and remoter had been matched one by one before delivery. it means, one remoter only control one receiver, it is individual. By the way, if you want to change the remoter from individual one to universal one, we also have operate instruction if you need. Enjoy your new remote fan.

**Q: How does the timer feature work?**
A: Dear sir, For example, if you want to setup 4 hours timer, please operate as following steps. STEP 1: power on, let your fan work; STEP 2: push the button marked as "4H". STEP 3: After 4 hours, your fan will stop. Please note that the timer is only control Fan, not control the light. If you have any further question, pls contact with us anytime.

**Q: The light works but the fan does not**
A: Step 1: Correct connection
A, input and output lines can not be reverse, it will burn-out if reverse.
B, Before connection, check the user manual carefully, the wire color maybe not match your very old ceiling fan. Contact seller, we will help you to install)

Step 2: Do you hear a short sound “ Beep” from the receiver when you power on ?
YES: The receiver is good, and can power on successfully
NO: The receiver is failed in POWER ON，please check your wire connection.
The correct action: Power on, “Beep” from receiver, then the light on. Fan will not run.
(FAN will run only when you press speed button in remoter)

Step 3: Does the indicator in remote will light when you press any button?
YES: Remote working
NO: check battery (also check the battery case, the positive contacts maybe not a good connection for some battery brands. If so, you can folded up tiny squares of aluminum foil and put them between the batteries and contacts)

Step 4: Do you hear short sound “BEEP” from the receiver when you push any button in the remoter?
YES: The signal between receiver and remoter is correct
NO: Need rematch the signal between remoter and receiver. And make sure the Antenna keep outside the canopy
Rematch method: Connect seller.

**Q: Does the fan switch has to be on high for the remote to go from high, to medium, to slow? what if fan switch is set to slow? fan ran very slow,**
A: Yes, your fan switch must to be set to HIGH. Why? Because the speed which set by your fan switch equal to the speed which set from 'high' in remote. For example: your fan had been set to MEDIUM through fan switch, When you press 'high' button in remote, your fan speed is MEDIUM. It means that the highest speed you can get from remote is 'MEDIUM'. When you press ' low ', the fan speed is very very slow. So, please make sure that your fan speed should be set to MAX through you pull chain before using the remote if you want to get correct speed you want.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ New Replacement Fan Remote -
*by S***. on March 7, 2021*

I had purchased fan controllers by a different manufacturer that repeatedly failed on me (sensitive to power outages). I purchased this remote to replace those by the other manufacturer. This remote has a controller box that is much smaller in size, and therefore much, much easier to install than those that have been the industry standard (& much bigger) for years. Much easier to get all the wires tucked in, in a shallow J-Box. Note that the manual states that one must leave the antenna wire exposed. I did not do this, but kept it in the canopy (bottom of the canopy), and it works just fine. Note that one can turn the beep off (tells how in the instruction manual). Note that the two Neutral wires on the controller must be tied together to the line neutral, but come out of opposite ends of the controller. The controller wires are only 3-1/2" long, and so it is problematic to get both wires to the line neutral. The neutral on the fan controller end should be made 10" long to facilitate wiring. I had to add a length of wire to the one neutral to be able to install the controller. I am using the controller for fan only, and it works just fine. Hopefully this device is more rugged (able to handle power outages) than the other manufacturer's devices that I bought previously. Time will tell. I will post if any problems are experienced.
