Review: This product save me $600 - I tried this product after my local pool dealer told me that my old d e pool filter was no longer available New York and California were going to discontinue any use of the d e products he tried to sell me a sand filter and pump I've had my pump for over 12 years along with the DE filter I continually had to get rid of the old d e and put in new de in order for the filter to run that is recommended 12 PSI the pump keeps slowing down I thought it was time for a new pump but I thought I give this product a try the stuff is wonderful my filter and pump are working better than they ever did my pool is crystal clear the stuff is amazing I'd recommend it to anybody with a d e pool filter

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I received Big splash perlite instead. Is this the same or a mistake?**
A: Me too just opened the box cannot find any info on line about big splash pearlite nor if this version of the  product is cheaper than the product advertised and that I paid for.

**Q: scoops for backwash 60 sq ft filter ?**
A: For my QUAD DE60 filter, I use 5 1lb scoops.  I place 5 scoops of DE in a 5-gallon bucket and add water to make a slurry and dump it into the strainer opening and use the hose to flush water and DE so it doesn't clump

**Q: What volume (in cups quarts or liters, not weight or "coffee cans") are you supposed to use per sq ft of filter?**
A: I think it depends on your filter.  Mine needs 10 scoops of the 1 lb size scoop but your filter company would be a better place to look.

**Q: What size are the perlite granules (mesh) used in this?**
A: Its very fine power not granules

This product is lighter and does a better job then traditional DE products. It holds up and is easier to clean off the filter elements when maintenance is required. Love this product and would recommend it over DE products. Jim H.
