Even though it has a narrow rubber/silicone ring on the edge of the stand, it is not big enough to provide traction when sitting on the mouth of the carafe this I have to hold it already. I've attached a small potato chip bag clip to the edge of the holder base and grip that. I like my coffee hot, but the porcelain cools down the water as it runs through so slowly, which is due to only two holes at the bottom. This metal cone absorbs and retains the heat longer. The coffee runs faster through with or without an added filter.In addition, the porcelain model is heavy, falls over making a mess because the base does not completely cover the cup. This metal cone sits in a lightweight stand which not only covers the whole cup, it has a rubber ring making it nonslip. So many things I like about this model, and I should mention it is very easy to clean, too.
