In my travel bag, I keep a tube of Arm and Hammer Baking Soda Toothpaste, which easily removes any residue from your appliance or mouth. Arming yourself with knowledge and paying meticulous attention to what works for you and when will enable you to eat pretty much anything you choose. If I know I’m having a cookout with ribs and corn on the cob, for instance, I’ll use the PolyGrip product liberally on both upper and lower and pay attention to firmly holding in place for maximum adhesion, I can not only eat what I choose, but keep food particles from getting past the seal and making eating unpleasant. If this is your first time with an oral prosthetic, the powder will help give you your confidence back. My order contained Zinc and Amazon refused to offer refund on unopened, still sealed package. Shame on them. **Q: Is the product good for the elderly?** A: Yea it is. It’s a great product for any age. Just use it over the trash or a paper towel/toilet paper . It makes a mess out of the sink. Coat the denture, remove excess, place in mouth and swish with water to make a good seal with your teeth closed. Plan on it being in for 4 hours minimum. Use after having coffee or you’ll have to redo them which isn’t a big deal. Hot liquids will break the seal sometimes I got this for my 96 year old grandma and she loves it He/she will be able to eat again! **Q: do i need to mix the powder with water out side ?** A: Clean your dentures as you would. Leave the dentures wet do not dry them off or the powder will not stick. Put powder onto lining of dentures that goes against the gums and shake off excess powder and put dentures in and press firmly for about 20 seconds and all done.
