It is about the same dimensions as the original in my Whirlpool gas cooktop that is around 8 years old. The only thing is the gas out part of the original regular was 3/8" (so is the gas in for the stove). It is hard to reach, and didn't want to take it out until I had a new regulator in hand, but could have used my phone to take a picture of the top and bottom of the original without taking it out, and I would have been able to see the size difference. No big deal though, I bought a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter for a few dollars at the hardware store. Just in case this helps you - This worked perfect for my new propane gas range / cook top, in my double wide mobile home. Put in my propane jets and attached this to it. **Q: what is the btu?** A: that is a function of the gas line. **Q: Is this regulator able to supply enough gas for a 240,000 btu appliance?** A: No. This is for home appliances. For an appliance with that much gas flow, *for your own safety* you need a professional/commercial regulator, installed by a gas piping pro with the proper tools and instruments, who can ensure all parts of the system are up to code, pressurized properly, leak-free, and SAFE - hey, I like to do all my own stuff, too, but that much flow?
