The #1663 Soil Test Kit from Environmental Concepts is a liquid based testing kit which is great for hobbyists, classrooms and professionals. In contains all components needed for a total of 80 tests. 20 each for soil pH, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potash. Detailed instructions are included along with extensive guidelines for altering soil and using the best plants for your soil environment. Review: Broke on first test - The instructions state ""You may feel strong resistance while filtering" I did... then heard a crack and the cylinder body has an inch long crack. I managed to complete the N test and the P test, but on the K test, the soil solution was leaking directly into the filtered collection tube. Not sure if a manufacturing defect or just being over butch, when not knowing exactly what to expect. Please advise how I get a replacement filtering device, the website won't open for me, and I'm outside the desertcart return period. The tests themselves are reasonably straight forward and the N and P tests returned valid results.

**Q: I have 4 disctinct areas around my house where i'd like to test the soil. does this kit have enough to test all those areas?**
A: "40 tests" means that it has enough materials for 10 tests each for pH, N, P, and K.

**Q: Where can I get the replacement chemicals and how much do these cost with shipping and handling?**
A: I've looked everywhere and you can't find any replacement chemicals for this set.

**Q: If used properly, is there enough reagent (solutions) to conduct the claimed amount of tests? Many complaints about how many tests...**
A: There is not enough solution to do the number of tests claimed. The pH test solution appears to yield a result consistent with my pH probe. The remainder of the tests yielded no results, ie. there were no color changes present to compare against the chart on the nitrogen or phosphorus tests, there was no cloudiness detected on the potassium test. These results were inconsistent with prior soil testing and my crops show no signs of the deficiencies that would be present if the tests had been accurate. I had purchased this test kit in 2014, I think, and it had appeared to work accurately. The kit I purchased in 2017 performed completely differently. I won't be buying this kit again.

A: N=nitrogen P=phosphorus K=potassium.the same order on a bag of fertilizer. 10 10 10 means.10(N) 10(P) and 10(K)
