For the price point: 5 star. Relative to $500-$1000: 4 star
I needed a work-from-home chair (+gaming on the weekends) that could ergonomically & comfortably get me through 4+ hours straight of sitting. While at work, I'm used to sitting on a Steelcase Leap V2 chair (which is a 5 star in the $500-$1000 range for comparison), I knew I personally could only afford <$500 (<$300 ideally) so this CLATINA nailed the price-point. By dropping to this price-point, I was well aware that I would have to sacrifice major features, though I searched in hopes of finding a chair that would minimize my sacrifice... and I believe I found an excellent option![For reference, I am 5'8" with relatively short leg to torso ratio]FIRST, I'll list the features of high-end ergonomic office chairs included (with their caveats):+ Fairly thick cushioned seat (a little stiff, no anatomical 'sculpting')+ 'Waterfall' cushion design by knees to prevent circulation cut-off+ Sliding seat for adjustable depth (not designed well to be as useful compared to high end chairs, which have a deeper seat length to accommodate the sliding forward. With the CLATINA, the seat depth is shorter and I imagine for those with longer legs, their butts would begin to "fall off" the back of the seat when the seat's fully slid forward. It's perfectly in range for me)+ Lumbar support using ~1 in of dense foam (I've got it set at it's highest setting and it hits me just right. It can go lower, but not higher, which I imagine more useful for those taller than I am)+ Adjustable seat height (it can go plenty tall, though I'm at its lowest setting and it's barely perfect. I really could go ~0.5" lower, and I imagine those shorter than I am would not be able to get their feet flat on the ground. Most chairs can't really go this short, which is why buying an elevated foot rest is an option for shorter folks)+ Extreme tilt back angle; I can nearly lay down flat! (however, no compensating seat angle tilt)+ Adjustable seat tilt tension+ Adjustable seat tilt stopping angle+ Arm rests have in-out adjustment option (which was really important to me)+ Arm rests are height adjustable (I’m at the highest setting and it’s just perfect. Again, I’d imagine someone taller may need a little more height rather than being able to go really low… though when adjusted to the lowest setting, the chair is able to slide under desks!)SECOND, I’ll list the features sacrificed (that weren’t already discussed within my caveats):- Arm rests do not adjust back-forward. Unfortunately as a result, my hands to not fully clear the arm rest so that I cannot type, etc without the arm rest half getting in the way. To compensate, I have to lean my upper body slightly forward or move my arms forward (which deviates from ideal ergonomic body positioning)- Arm rests not cushioned.- Seat cushioning does not compare to higher end chairs. (It’s a big step up relative to my previous ~$100 home office chair, but I don’t expect miracles)- Seat backing is fine, but not amazing. It may stretch out over time and become less supportive- I received no assembly instructions (though a decent User Manual)THIRD, packaging and shipment+ Box was branded and constructed well+ All parts came packaged VERY nicely, separated as star base, seat (with arm rests attached), seat back, and pneumatic seat post. Hex wrench and 2 bolts (plus extras) can included. All that considered, it was very easy to assemble without instructions.+ My chair arrived VERY quickly, faster than estimated delivery times. I'm exceedingly grateful. In summary, this chair satisfied most of my ergonomic needs and I believe its construction will last me many years. At this price point, it’s a definite 5 star. If some of the caveats and missing features I listed are required for you, then I truly believe you’ll have to pay more for a different chair (though hopefully not too much more!).

A good inexpensive chair that holds up
This char worked for a couple years in my office and now it’s in my garage at a workstation. Still works great. It does have a small squeak when it rocks but the comfort and size are great. Also it still looks great and the materials have held up after all this time in the garage.

Very comfortable, but crack on arm and a small stain
**UPDATE, seller contacted me about crack, offering a 30% refund. I'd say that is more than generous**Comparing it to my previous cheap $90 'Amazon's Choice' office chair, this is no doubt worth the increase. If I were to compare it to the Herman Miller chair's at the office which are a couple hundred dollars more, it has similar comfort, just lacks some of the features. This review is coming from a 5ft. 11. user, roughly 165 pounds (important later) and pretty slim. The length of the seat is not the longest, it doesn't fully span from directly under behind your knees to your tailbone, this is OK due to the function to slide the seat out. For my body type this actually turns out to be quite comfortable as your lower bottom area slightly sinks into the crevice between the lumbar support and the cushion. The width of the seat is decent enough--though if you're on the larger end I would not recommend this. The final pointer I'd say on the seat is that the cushion is FIRM, by far the most firm cushioned seat I have sat on.The lumbar support is a nice addition, you feel it at all times and it is adjustable to a degree, nothing too much to say about it (once again, it is very firm). If I am sitting up right, the back of the chair itself does not 'hug' you like some higher-priced chairs. The arms are functional and usable. The plastic has some cushion too it, nice range of motion and the arm rests extend enough. They do have some give to it, though certainly not flimsy, not really bothersome especially for a $220 dollar chair. So what are the issues? The primary thing that is missing is that their is no tilt lock. What the design does is that it allows you to set the MAXIMUM tilt, and the control the TENSION/FORCE it takes to get to that maximum tilt. For a 160 pound guy, I have the tension set to the lowest and it is JUST about forgiving enough so that I doesn't feel like I have to fight against the mechanism. Also if you do plan on leaning back, get the head rest or your head will just dangle off the back.Essentially what I'm trying to say is if you're say less than 150 pounds, if you lean back, the entire time the chair will try and lean forward to the upright stage and you will actively have to push back on the chair which is supremely annoying. The other issue I had was that their is a very sizable crack in the arm. A few other people had this issue, I will contact the seller and get an update on this. Can't exactly blame them, the packaging is good enough, probably the shipping guys. There is also a small dark stain on the chair, very minute and barely visible but I would have liked to have a perfectly clean chair.Overall, wonderful for an Amazon budget chair, some normal issues to be expected.

Cheaply made
Honestly chair was fine when I did use it but the mechanic that keeps the arms locked in place broke after only two months of use. Now my right arm just constantly falls to the lowest level and is extremely frustrating. For 250 dollars I expect a higher quality chair that does not break easily. I do not even use the chair that much because most the time I am at the desk I am standing so extremely sad to see this break so soon.
