Two steps forward, one step back
You know, this probably should be a five star but there's several small things that stops it from being a 5 star. Okay, I didn't buy this for my drinking water. I am an admitted water snob and have only been drinking spring water since 1991. I bought this just to have clean water for various uses like for my mom and wife to use in their coffee. To fill my dog's bowl up with. My wife does professional cake making and she uses it if she needs water in a recipe. And it does have one real good use for drinking water, that's when you wake up and don't have any water beside the bed and don't want to get an unopened bottle out of the fridge. You can get a quick, good drink out of this. I'll say this is good drinking water. I think that times have changed so much it's not as convenient and I know we need to stop using so many plastic bottles. This is plenty good enough for most people. But with me, I don't drink much else besides water. Some people love coffee, some love wine, some love liquor, soft drinks, I love water. And I'm saying this is good enough to drink everyday. My problems with it. I had one of the very first PuR faucet systems back in the 90s. It was the old, clunky one that would fall off when you flipped it to get water. I also have two of the PuR water dispensers that hold about 100 ounces, have the nozzle on them and sit in the fridge. I still use those but they're hardly practical for anything more than what I use them for. They're in the garage fridge for quick drinks if we're outside playing ball or mowing. I knew I wanted to try this one since it's the one-click install. The install is very, very easy. It's one-click but it's not set straight. And it won't set straight. When I turn the water on, it lifts a 1/4 inch and is set straight, when I turn the water off it drops a 1/4 inch. I understand the concept here but the adapter has something to do with it. It's not allowing a full mount without some pressure. It still works and doesn't drip. Here's a problem that I don't think anyone has mentioned and if they have, I must not have seen it. This filter is bigger than it looks. We have a large family, so the sink sometimes gets filled up. When the sink is filled, this filter and the main faucet can't be used. It's too close to the dishes and will splatter everywhere. I do like the turn on, turn off valve on the side and the problem with the size won't matter to some people. It needed to be mentioned, though. They're really close to having this thing perfected. I've watched it change over the last 25 years and still recommend it.

Spraying Leaks, Reduced Quality Controls
We have had a PUR water filtration system on our kitchen facet for years. I had to change out the kitchen facet, consequently the adapters had to be changed out. This is when the problems started. PUR sent me new adapters, BUT the filtration system leaked at the new (plastic) adapter. It NEVER leaked with the previous (metal) adapter. I could not use the metal adapter because the mating interfaces are different from my older facet. So, since the filtration system was 5 years old, I thought it was time I buy a new system. Perhaps the locking ring was the problem. Installed the new filtration system, had the SAME problems, spraying leak with the adapter PUR sent me. So, I attached the new adapter that came with the new filtration system. Leaks got worse. Put the adapter that PUR sent me, back into the facet, and SLOOOOWLY turned on the water. No leaks. Switched to the filter side, and it developed a spraying leak. I turned off the facet, I then turned it on very SLOOOWLY, and the filter side didn't leak. After testing it for several minutes, I found turning the facet on fast with the filter side turned on produces a spraying leak, turning it on slowly and there isn't a leak. I'm thinking the rubber washer is either stiff or can't handle sudden pressure changes. The old adapter was a metal fitting; the new one is plastic. If I didn't have six new filters sitting in my cabinet, I would probably try another manufacturer, I don't see this filtration system or the adapter lasting more than a year. I see Amazon has companies that sell metal adapters, it's crazy to have to buy another company's facet adapters because the OEM adapters LEAK. Decreasing quality, perhaps the plastic adapters always leaked as opposed the metal one we used for years. NOTE: the instructions say to FINGER tighten the adapter. Doing that led to leaks at the facet/adapter interface. Adjustable pliers helped tighten up that problem.
