So much better than an electronic stud finder. Simple concept - strong magnet sticks to the drywall screws...very well in fact. It only took me about 5 seconds to find a stud vs others I tried that were hit and miss. Purchased this one to help our son find a stud to mount his TV to the wall. Told him to keep it and got another for myself. I had one of the old school battery operated ones that you slide across the wall and the little led lit up when it detected a stud. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not. This is definitely a more accurate way to do it. I know - it doesn't work on some wall surfaces, but most homes built around us in the last 30 years have drywall...and we aren't planning on moving into a house without drywall anytime soon, so worth the money.

I originally had made up my mind on a digital stud finder for triple the price but after seeing such great reviews I decided to start here. So so glad I did. It’s so easy to use and works perfect. Easy to hold and glides along the wall for studs. Accurate and extremely convenient

This is too easy and 100% accurate. No looking for batteries, holding down buttons while you watch a meter jump around and beep randomly. This uses the ultra-simple principle that drywall is anchored with either screws or nails, both of which are metallic, then covered with joint compound. As long as the fastener is in a stud, this will detect it with its super strong magnet. Once you find the fastener, it stays in place. No need to mark with a pencil. Great product and I couldn't be more satisfied. What could be more accurate than finding the original fastener in the wall?

Works just ok, this device relies on finding nails in studs and since they don’t put nails all up and down a stud, it limits this device’s effectiveness.

After trying multiple digital devices from the local hardware store (which either did not work or broke quickly), decided to try the old school way. These are just so much better! Would recommend to anyone trying to find studs in their drywall!
