This process requires HID ballast which produces high voltage of 23000V to perform the task, however with common ballast it takes around 7 to 10 seconds discharge time for the bulb to reach its full 100% brightness. With Sportiva series ballasts Quick-start chipset technology, the HID bulb discharge time can be shorten to about 4 seconds to reach its full 100% brightness.

EMI FILTER: Electromagnetic interference or EMI, also called radio-frequency interference or RFI is disturbance that affects an electric circuit due to either electromagnetic induction or electromagnetic radiation emitted from an external source, that carries rapidly changing electrical currents, such as an electric circuit. This disturbance may interrupt, obstruct, or otherwise degrade or limit the effective performance of the circuit. These effects can range from a simple degradation of data to a total loss of data. Sportiva Ebony Series ballast integrates Line Filter Inductors component to its Invertor module to prevent this Electromagnetic Interference.
