Every one who lives in a cold, snowy areas should have a pair.
Fantastic snow boots; whenever it is winter and I am going to be outside for an extended period of time, I use it; very comfortable and warm; great traction; only problem is that it is so tall that it is less comfortable against the shins; but if you want full coverage, that is the price you need to pay. For shorter use when there is not deep snow, I use summer boots or regular shoes, but for extended exposure outside in the winter, it is perfect.

Great product. Absolutely no complaints.
I read a lot of reviews before buying. This is my second pair of Columbia boots. The first pair were regular hiking boots and I was more than satisfied with the fit, comfort, waterproofing, and traction. Durability is great so far too. I just received the bugaboots today and was a little worried because a lot of reviews said they leaked, laces too small, poor fit, and discomfort. I’m not sure if they all received the same boots as me, because these boots are great! They fit the same as my other pair, the laces are sufficient, the insulation is good, they are warm and soft, they feel great walking around in so far. I absolutely love Columbia sportswear and will continue to buy their products. They have great quality and workmanship. I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt the need to for these boots since there are so many mixed speculated reviews out there. I ordered the same size for the boots as I would with most pairs of tennis shoes. I live in the mountains right next to a national forest and go out to the woods hiking every single week. That is the main use for my boots.

Good boots, but one problem
I have used Columbia outerware, boots, and shoes for many years. My 10 year old Bugaboots finally cracked so they aren't as good in wet conditions. My new Bugaboots fit well, are comfortable, are warm enough for most conditions, and are very water resistant. However, they have one problem. Instead of hooks in the top 2 positions, there are eyelets. I have high arches and must spread the top wide open in order to get the boots on. It takes twice as long to put the boots on as I usually have to unlace the cord from the upper eyelets. I am going to take the boots to a shoe repair shop and have hooks installed in the upper 2 positions. I still give the Bugaboots a 5 rating as they really are good boots.

Great boots but not leak proof
I bought my husband a pair of these and they are very well insulated, were the perfect size, and he hasn't had any slips or falls while wearing them. They are tall enough so that winter in Maine is bearable with them on. The only two complaints we have about them are that they leak pretty easily. Even if he stays out of puddles, his feet end up being wet after just a few minutes. Another thing to keep in mind is that they are pretty heavy, so trying to move fast in them might not go as well as you'd think. They'd be worth the money if they didn't leak and get his feet wet.

As others have said, these run a little small
I try and walk my dog every day when the weather is tolerable. Once the snow arrived, I realized that the waterproof leather hiking boots I already owned wouldn't work. While they were amply warm and dry, the synthetic soles - even with the 'lug' tread pattern - were extremely slippery, so I started looking around for a better 'winter walking boot' (and we have snow on the ground for around 5 months of the year). I decided to give these Columbia boots a try. While I normally wear a 10 1/2 medium-width size shoe/boot, based on the input from other reviews, I ordered a size 11 (1/2 size larger) and also the 'wide' width rather than the 'normal' width. The boots arrived the other day. I tried them on and was glad I ordered a 1/2 size larger than normal. With heavier socks on, it gave me about 1/2" of room in front of my toes. The wider width also helped...no 'tightness' along the sides of my feet - and even if the insulation compresses over time, there is enough adjustment in the laces to further tighten the fit. Wore them the other morning when I went to walk my dog. Temperature was around 16 degrees and there was about an inch of fresh snow on top of hard-packed snow and ice on the streets. Once the boots 'cooled' (to the outside temp), traction was pretty good...still had to be careful in areas where underlying ice coated the streets. We walked about a mile and a half that morning. Feet were warm and dry and boots felt comfortable even though they're not 'broken in' yet. I was initially concerned about the 'height' of the boots (i.e. cutting into my shins when I walked) but this didn't happen...and the additional 'height' actually kept snow from getting inside the boots. One thing I noticed is that the 'lining' of the boots (like the 'lining' of other cold weather boots I have) is a fabric that makes it a little more difficult to 'slide' your feet into and out of the boots. To remedy this, I normally slip one of those thin plastic throwaway shopping (grocery) bags over my socks which makes it easier to slide your feet in and out. Also, if your feet 'sweat' while your walking, these bags will keep the boot linings dry. After I've had these boots for awhile I may update this review if I notice something worth mentioning.

Excellent Boots
These boots are excellent. The Black/Brown color is nice. I'm glad I read reviews before I bought this product. Listen to everyone when they say order a size up. I normally wear a size 8 but went with a size 9 and they fit perfect (not loose, not too tight, enough wiggle room for my toes to be comfortable. I don't have wide feet so I went with the normal fit and that was the right choice. If you plan on wearing thick socks with these, you may want to order a size and a half or two sizes up. I've already used them in the snow and I must say, these boots keep my feet warm without needing thick socks (I just use my normal Nike crew socks) but everyone's different and you may wear these in colder conditions than what I've experienced, so I can see why you'd want to wear thick socks with them. Anyways, these boots get a 5 star review from me. My only gripe is that Amazon delivered to the wrong address lol. Luckily my neighbor held on to them for me.

Except protection at -25 degree, it’s a good pair of high ankle shoes. I used it in Kashmir, -6 degree, but it didn’t provide warmth. Had to wear 3 socks to overcome cold pinching effect on fingers

Very good quality boot that fits very well. Having flat feet the good arch support was a pleasant surprise and adds to the overall quality feel of the foot bed. Delivery was super fast and was on my door step in under 2 days, very impressed as I live west of Brisbane. Very happy with product and will purchase a 2nd pair for my son.
