Excellent Switch
Arrives nicely packed, with a few leaflets and little else. In the box there is the switch and a power supply and four little rubber feet. There is no template, so you need to know that the mounting holes are exactly 20cm apart. If you intend to mount it with the writing the right way up, then you need to move both screw holes 7mm to the right of where you had marked. This is because the switch fits on the screws and then secures by moving it to the left. This is perhaps unusual, but it stops the switch moving up and falling off when you plug cables in, so makes perfect sense. You need No.6 or 3.5mm screws. Anything bigger and the heads won't go in the slots. This is standard for switches. I put the feet on and then mounted it on the wall. Sounds silly, but I prefer doing that. It cushions the switch and means if you ever want to use it desktop, then you haven't lost the feet! Get the screws right and with the feet fitted the switch is very firm on the wall. No rattling here! Construction is good, nice and heavy, and internally has all the right heat sinks. A good quality unit. The only difference I could see with any other switches is it doesn't have an on/off at the back. My only minor complaint, and this applies to all switches that I know of, the LEDs are in the wrong place, and you can't see them when the unit is wall mounted. I have seen some people mount them upside down to remedy this, but something I would not do unless I have blanking plugs for the unused sockets to keep the dust out. I don't, so it went the right way up!! Wiring up, I like all the sockets. The power socket is nice and solid, as are the Ethernet sockets. They are the right way round - with the cable releases facing outwards, not inwards towards the wall (You have to watch this, on some switches the cable release tabs are inwards towards the wall which makes it seriously difficult to remove the cables!! ). Works as you would expect. No sign of any issues. An excellent switch and great value too. Highly recommended.

Reliable and simple
The TL-SG116 is a reliable, no-fuss 16-port unmanaged gigabit switch ideal for expanding wired networks in homes or small offices. Its fanless metal chassis ensures quiet operation, and auto-negotiation + Auto MDI/MDIX means setup is completely plug-and-play. TP-Link +2 B&H Photo Video +2 Thanks to Green Ethernet, it dynamically reduces power use based on cable length or whether ports are idle. TP-Link It also supports QoS (802.1p/DSCP) and IGMP Snooping, helping to prioritise latency-sensitive traffic like voice or video. Fuse With its 16 GbE ports and passive cooling, it’s a solid choice for users who need reliable, high-capacity wired connectivity without the complexity of a managed switch. Bottom line: Great value for a quiet, efficient, high-port count gigabit switch ideal for dense setups or network expansion.

Nice quality, just works.
After having multiple plastic 4-8 port switches, that worked fine but running seperate switches is ugly & messy so I decided to tidy things up and get one 16 port switch, wasn't sure what to expect with it being metal. Upon arrival, it felt very solid, reassuringly solid, no setup required just plugged it all in and its not missed a beat & I'm getting full gigabit speeds from my NAS, perfect.

A great expansion hub for the modern household.
Modern internet hubs that most providers supply, just do not have enough connection ports in the back to plug everything into. Enter TP-Link. The TL-SG116 hub is a Gigabit switch hub that has 16 ports on it, 1 lead connected to your Broadband providers hub then gives you 15 ports that you can use to connect everything else in your home to the internet without flooding your wifi with connections. That is computers, games consoles, Printers, TV's, home security stations etc. You can also manage the traffic to the internet if you wish to with this Switch. It is well worth the cost to give yourself no "wifi signal loss" problems all around the home, just run a cable to it and you have internet wherever you need it.

Jaaa ...
