Functional and that's all I need
It is drainpipe so there isn't a whole lot to discuss but I will give a quick overview. The pipe expands easily and you can snake it around obstacles and such but don't expect to make very tight turns without losing overall distance. Keeping that in mind, you are best served by keeping the run as straight as possible. I used this pipe to re-direct water from a downspout into a flowerbed and then distribute the water evenly for a number of plants including some hedges and small palms. The perforations did a good job without simply carrying the water to the end of the pipe. The walls of the pipe are sturdy enough to withstand gravel if you wanted to use this in a French-drain type of application. One thing to note is connecting this pipe directly to the elbow at the bottom of a 3x4 downspout is a tight fit. You can get it on by bending the downspout in but a much easier alternative is to use Flex-Drain 53102 Downspout Adaptor, Landscaping Drain Pipe Adapter 3 by 4 by 4-Inch

Not the same as what you get in stores, but decent
I bought this to make a French drain in my landscape over a short segment, connecting it to a longer drain trench. It is a perforated pipe, but unlike the ones at the big box hardware stores, it doesn’t have narrow slits, but instead small squarish holes. The pipe itself is 4 inches in diameter, corrugated, but when you stretch it out to get the full length, it’s clear that it is a much thinner plastic material than the kind in the stores. I don’t know how durable it is, based on that concern.Still, for my purpose, it seemed to be adequate. I think if I had to do another drain, I’d feel safer going with the sturdier pipe from the local store; this one packages nicely because it accordions down, but then the plastic is thin and flimsy feeling, and I don’t know if it will stand up to the weight of rock and soil on top of it as well as the more heavy duty one will.
