There were a couple of reasons why I wanted to try this particular apple slicer. Reviews described it as both sturdy and sharp. I've had my hand sliced up the past from this style of apple slicer because they fell apart while failing to make it through a sturdy apple. The finger slicing with those other brands worked because it was sharp but because it was poorly made. I'm happy to report: This is not poorly made. It's hard to imagine this thing falling apart in a war against an apple, in spite of the fact that it has more blades than a standard apple slicer, which means it has to work a little harder to get through the apple. Sturdy. But I will give you a warning — While you may never have to worry about getting cut up because it falls apart while using it, you will want to be ever-cognizant to the fact that these blades are SHARP by comparison to other Apple slicers. Again, I don't fault the design for this because that relative sharpness is what makes it work when slicing a large apple into several thin slices. as some other reviewers have mentioned, i, too, managed to cut my thumb ON THE VERY FIRST APPLE! LOL And so I will be much more careful (once bitten — or sliced — twice shy, as they say), and I encourage you to also be careful, or you may be accidentally making finger food. ;)

Good apple slicer. Very sharp.

I needed a faster way to cut an apple into slices than with a traditional knife. This handy tool makes quick work if it. The tool itself is sturdy and generally works well. The main issues I have with it are that it's difficult to clean and it can be difficult to use if the Apple doesn't have a perfectly flat bottom. Cleaning this tool is difficult only because you have to use great caution around the blades. They are very sharp and cleaning between them is a pain and chews up the sponge you're using. This is not a problem unique to this brand, but is a problem with any tool of this nature. The second problem is less obvious until you try slicing a non perfectly shaped Apple. While it can be done, really mis shapen apples can be dangerous to slice with this. In generally it requires moderate pressure to slice. When you add into that scenario a mis shaped Apple, it becomes more difficult and dangerous since you have to apply this pressure on an angle to cleanly remove the core. Again, this is not unique to this brand, but rather the design of the tool in general. Overall I still recommend it since it is a huge time saver, just be careful using it and cleaning it since the blades are very sharp.

I received a bag of extra large 4" fuji apples and my old slicer couldn't do the job. In fact, the plastic handle snapped off midway through cutting. I went on a search for an all metal, extra large slicer that could do more than the standard 8 slices. This one seemed to be exactly what I wanted. I have used it around 10 times on the 4" apples and it has only snagged a couple of times due to the apple not being symmetrically shaped. I do have to apply a significant amount of force after 1/2 way through but I do believe this gadget will handle a normal size apple with ease. I am pleased with the sharpness of the blades and the sturdiness. I like that I can get smaller wedges of apples but they are not too thin.

This apple slicer is well-made and strong. It cuts through apples with an easy push. It is large and strong enough for large apples, but would work equally well with small ones. I can slice a pot of 15 apples in about 8 minutes. It came with a small brush for clearing apple remnants out of corners. However, the slicer is easy to clean. Therefore, I have used the brush only a couple of times. It is also an attractive tool that is well-made. It's much easier to cut apples with this slicer than with a knife. As a result, I have been able to make several apple dishes in a single day.

perfetto! resistente, lavabile in lavastoviglie, lame affilatissime (anzi, fate attenzione che io mi sono tagliata una volta) e i 12 spicchi sono preferibili a mio avviso rispetto ad altri che fanno spicchi più grossi. Lasciate perdere quelli che hanno parti in plastica pensando di risparmiare qualche euro. Chi più spende meno spende e io mi sono trovata così bene che ne ho preso uno anche per il lavoro!

Belle qualité, j'ai pu préparer environ 20 Kg de pommes pour les mettre au séchoir et la coupe en 12 portions est adaptée car les morceaux de pommes sont de taille raisonnable contrairement à mon matériel précédent qui coupait en 10. A noter toutefois qu'il est un peu difficile d'amorcer la découpe et un coup de paume est nécessaire.

I think this item is very good and very strong my last one had plastic handles that broke so I am very pleased with this one. Would recommend.
