Q: Can you use back stitch instead of half cross stitch?

I don't think the beads would be held on in a sturdy manner if you used back stitch. I actually use a full cross so that my beads stand up straight. A half cross would cause the beads to be diagonal. A back stitch would probably allow them to move around, but you could try it.

Q: What size are the beads? And what size thread? Can I get the instructions for this kit?

The seed beads are Size 11 and the nymo thread seems to be the regular size.

Q: Can this be attached to the back of a blazer or made into a purse?

The size of this project is big and I'm not sure about a purse. Only if you take a part of the fabric. I know that one of my buyer made a pillow using this kit.

Q: Does the canvas need to be stabilized with a frame for beading?

The frame is not necessary but stitching with frame is more comfortable.
