Mid-Gauge Basics + Much More...: Basic Techniques for the LK 150 & All Manual Mid-Gauge Knitting Machines Review: Great learning tool! - I just bought my first knitting machine and it was pretty clear I needed some lessons. Enter Mid-Guage Basics! This is a great step-by-step book that is walking me through all sorts of fundamental techniques for machine knitting. It’s not perfect, sometimes I do have to reference a step on YouTube, but definitely much better than working my way through the manufacturer’s manual. Just finished my first hat in Lesson #1 and I have a beautiful cabled hat to show for it. Review: Good info, ugly book - The information in the book is good and worth buying for that. I bought it when I got back to machine knitting after getting a new machine and needing to brush up on techniques. I took away a star because the layout is awful, the type is too big, line spacing is too wide, the pictures are too small - it screams self-published and unproofed. There are also multiple typos one of which really bothers me - the edge of a fabric is selvage (US ) or selvedge (UK), not salvage.

Knitting Machine Excellent Guide
This book is excellent for anyone who owns the LK150, in fact it specifically addresses that knitting machine. However, it is also valuable as a great guide for the other machines out there. Clear to understand, patterns included. I am very happy with my purchase.

Not for beginners
Not a book for beginners, though it seems that it wanted to be. The instructions are not very clear and require a newbie like me to spend considerable time trying to figure it out. This is an example which illustrates my point. In the instructions for latching panels together, the book says to use a crochet hook to “ravel the end stitch from one side - twice”. I had to look up the word ravel, thinking it must be the opposite of unravel. It isn’t. They have the same meaning. So, I am to UNRAVEL the stitch on the end and I need to do it TWICE. It makes my head hurt. I was able to make the first project, a beanie, and I like it. But I struggled. I’m not entirely certain that I did it correctly. It just isn’t clear to me.

A great book for beginners using a mid-gauge knitting machine.
A great little book for anyone who uses and wants to start knitting on any mid-gauge knitting machine. The projects are easy to do, and lots of learning techniques are learned while doing the indicated projects. I recommend this book particularly for those who are new at using the LK-150 or LK-140 hobby knitting machines and want to start with a few simple knitting projects that are really nice to make.

Excellent information
This book is chockfull of useful information for newbies to midgauge knitting machines, and tips for more experienced machine knitters. It could have definitely used some copyediting, but seems to have been self-published by the author. If you can get past that, you will definitely find the book useful.

Overpriced for the amount of information. The instructions were alright but assumes q lot about the reader.
