I wanted an adapter or converter to connect the single wire (basically, a long headphone cord) to run my TV sound into the kitchen. Total elapsed time from opening the shipping box to up and running was about 6 minutes. I am not experiencing any sound delay between TV audio and kitchen speaker audio. I only gave 4 stars for durability since I've owned it for less than an hour, but it does look fairly solid. FYI, the main selling point was the inclusion of the USB cable with wall outlet adapter as many other models I saw required a power source but did not include it. EDIT: Make sure the sound settings on your TV are correct. If the output is "Dolby" this unit can't handle it (as stated in the description) and you might be surprised to hear static rather than sound! Settings adjusted (as instructed in the description as well) and everything is working as I wanted.

I used this to feed the audio from my flat screen to some wireless headphones. Hooked the SPDIF cable from TV to this box, headphone jack out of box to input of wireless headphones. Easy install. NOTE - as the instructions say, make sure the source (TV in this case) is outputting a PCM audio stream or you'll get noise or no audio at all.

Purchased this becuase I have an old school stereo system that my grandmother gave to me when she moved (its about 20 yrs old now) and the hookups worked on our tv but when we upgraded the tv we needed the adapter so we could continue to use the stereo system and speakers since its nostalgic for me to use it. One of the more affordable one on here that come with the power cord but the plug was flimsy and wouldnt stay connected properly. Ended up finding an extra cord and plug here at home but it has to be wrapped and weighted so it stays on hence why only giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Easy to set up as well.

my new Sony OLED TV had a digital output connector on the back., so i had to hook up this unit and add a small plug in connector to power it. The only drawback is that it's only usable for stereo output, and doesn't do anything much with a 7.2 surround system.

Did not work and I read every instruction on set up. My brother in law (4 year IT degree who knows all about converters) also tried to set up and it was the product itself not working. I get a message from company saying I should learn how to setup their products because they don’t support a certain setting on the tv. Placing blame of my “lack of knowledge” and being very offensive to my brother in law who works in this department everyday is beyond me. I never had a coin pant come back and say it’s not their product it’s the user lol. Walmart $30 converter ... works perfect very funny right when it’s the same thing and similar set up instructions. Learn how to make quality products first then learn how to accept your own faults.... won’t be ordering from this company EVER AGAIN

My old TV had a headphone jack for my surround sound. The new TV didn't and my surround sound doesn't have ARC. The optic output to this converter was the ticket. Just remove the little caps on the cable, didn't realize it at first.

The adapter quit working after 3 years and 3 months. They meet the need and price was good. They don't have volume control or a remote control. I needed this adapter to connect wireless headphones to my LG smart TV. Although I didn't see instructions showing how I figured out how to connect my sound bar also since my TV has only one external audio output and I wanted to have sound to both the sound bar and the headphones.

helped me connect my old jvc receiver tv audio/bose surround sound system to my new tv! works perfect no need for a new a soundbar! I am one happy camper!!!
