Great entry level turntable!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Â Let me start by saying that Geekoala sent me this turntable for free to review on my YouTube channel, Sound Speeds, but had zero influence on me so you can expect this to be an honest review.Unless you're over 35 or grew up listening to vinyl with your parents, you probably don't have a deep love for it. Today's listening experience is more about instant gratification listening thru smartphone stickers than an actual experience. Such a shame because vinyl isn't perfect, just like you and the music you listen to. It's warm toned and not even the highest of fidelity but there's no other listening experience I have ever had that rivals sitting in a dark room with candles lit watching the spinning record rise and fall with every turn of the platter while listening to music I truly love. This one reason I believe you should consider something like the Geekoala turntable. It's not a $50 dirt cheap model that barely plays records nor is it a $250 model with similar features as this one but looks like a vintage unit. No, I think this is a best of all worlds thing - a turntable you can enjoy records on without feeling like you're ripped off.Pros:Easy to use33 1/3, 45 and 78RPM record compatibleLine level out compatible with any modern receiverYou can write records to mp3 on a connected USB drive with one touchCompatible with USB connected mp3 players with less than 32GB capacityBluetooth allows you to play audio thru the speakersDefault tone arm tension works greatAuto end stop switchDust cover pulls dust away from turntable platter and records effectivelyCons:Downward facing speakers lack fidelity and distort at just over half volumeLow volume mechanical noise over transferred mp3sOnly creates 128kbps mp3sOutdated firmware doesn't acknowledge ExFat or NTFS formatted drives or 32GB+ capacity mp3 playersWatch my review for more details.I see this turntable as a great starter turntable because it's not too expensive but allows you to connect it to your existing stereo system. It also makes a great family turntable because it's not overly sensitive and should be able to resist mild punishment from young children.

Looks good, sounds bad
This thing looks good for the price. If you plan to use this with your own speakers and you care about the sound quality I wouldn't buy this one. The built-in speakers worked as I expected and it sounded fine for being tiny speakers. In not an audiophile, but when I plugged it into my stereo system it sounded shallow as if the music was recorded on a phone and played back through cheap speakers. I even gave it a few days to see if I could overlook it compared to my previous record player but I kept coming to the same conclusion that it just wasn't quite good enough. I'm in the process of returning it now.

Needle is broken with minimal use!
The needle just broke off the arm of the record player. Everything was working fine and then the speaker almost sounded as though it was broken. I lifted the arm and placed it back down with the lever and just heard a loud scratching sound because the needle was now gone. I will attempt to contact the company for repair instructions and will write another review depending on my experience.UPDATE: The Customer Support email does not work and I can not find any info on the company that makes this record player. BEWARE this is garbage and I highly recommend spending a bit extra for a brand name. I know I will!!! I have ordered replacement heads/needles on my own and hoping for the best.

Wobbly
First thing that I noticed is that two of the feet are off and this makes it wobble back and forth, no matter the surface it is placed on. Second we noticed the sound was a bit tinny. Beyond that I like the look of it and its fairly easy to use for a first timer.

Well worth the price
Exceptionally fast service, thank you! The unit was as advertised. As a stand-alone system the sound quality is acceptable for pop music but marginal for classical music. The line output provides a decent signal when coupled with a more robust system and the sound is then acceptable for more serious music. The tone arm is not adjustable and may be somewhat heavy and could perhaps cause some premature wear to discs. I have not yet tried the flashdrive recording feature, but I know that decent recording could be made via the line output and auxiliary equipment. The unit does not have an earphone output but, again, that can be simply accomplished through your auxiliary equipment.Maybe the best use of the turntable would be to audition records quickly before deciding to listen through more a more robust system.
