This is a good book to have if you want to learn all your stitches for crocheting it does not have some of the newest ones out like the magic ring but you can Google that easily so it's a nice book to have so you can learn from it

This Australian guide to crochet has 1000 photos showing how to do all the various types of stitch. There are no stitch patterns as such. Instructions given for both the English and American crochet terms. Beginning with how to hold the yarn and hook for right and left hands, then all the basic sts, inc, dec, and then covers topics: bobbles, bullion, clusters, loop st, fur st, chain loop, astrakhan, picots, popcorns, puffs, raised sts, shells, fans, spikes. Using beads and sequins, broomstick, chevrons, circular, entrelac, filet, hairpin, Irish, stripes, surface, tubular, spiral, afghan st, buttons and buttonholes, cords, edgings, fringes, flowers, edge finishes, blocking and joining pieces. Includes good index. Book lies flat with spiral binding. Intarsia and jacquard are missing as is doing dolls or Amigurumi toys. Very useful reference as the photos accompany the text showing just how to do the work.

I can understand why all the reviews that I read indicated what a wonderful book this is and how EVERY crocheter needs it in their Reference Book Library. It has information that is necessary for even a well advanced crocheter plus it explains everything so much clearer than previous books that I have purchased. I am truly glad that I purchased this publication!

I like the nice clear photos that go with each instruction. All the basic stitches and techniques, plus more seem to be covered. I was hoping for a few small patterns to go along with some of them, but then it might get to be a huge heavy book, like another that I have, but decided was a bit too overwhelming for the beginner's I am instructing. So this is a good book for the American learner who already has ideas or patterns to work from.

I have been crocheting for just over a year. As I was doing more advanced stitches, I was tired of always having to google how to do every stitch. I ordered several other crochet books, but they all stopped after just 8 or so basic stitches. This one describes the how to for every type of stitch and it is exactly what I was looking for. It is more of a reference book than pattern book.

This book is amazing. It is worth every penny. It shows step by step pictures on how to do stitches clearly so there is no question on how to do the stitches. I loved the book so much I bought it for my best friend who just learned how to crochet and is not very fimiler with how to read patterns yet. And she found this book very helpful. If you love crochet as much as I do this book is a must have.
