Amazing Li-ion Batteries, Powerful & Lightweight!!!
Light weight and Powerful. So much better than the old NiCd batteries! These are the 4.0Ah batteries, and not to mention there strengths (associated with Li-ion batteries), they do last for a very, very long time, while under a constant heavy work load. When I compare the same work I did with a older DeWalt hammer drill and the 18v XRP NiCd battery, with the new DeWalt DCD995 20V hammer drill , and just 1 of these DCB204 - 4.0Ah "Premium" battery, it's a complete NO contest! The new Li-ion battery from DeWalt last so much longer, I'm talking a full work day, & more! I just love these Li-ion battery packs! As said in another review, you can get these packs in varying Ah capacities. 1.5Ah, 2.0Ah, 3.0Ah, 4.0Ah Before, I would need to change batteries usually twice a day, with the old 18v NiCd batteries and drill. Now I can work for more than a full day with a single battery. So to me, thats one hell of a battery! These light weight but powerful batteries also help with daily fatigue! I'm just so use to my old 18v hammer drill and battery weighing so much, and now this new combination of the DCD995 hammer drill , and the DCB204 - 4.0Ah battery weigh so little, it's really hard to believe you can do so much work with just one of these batteries. But you can!!! & they are amazing! I've been waiting a long time for DeWalt to come out with Li-ion powered tools. I've been doing rough and finish carpentry for over 35 years, along with custom cabinetry. This new line of 20V MAX tools they have are all very nice, and both heavy duty, and affordable Now that they've incorporated Li-ion batteries for power, they will be able to expand there tool line even more. Even though other companies started using them sooner, I'm glad DeWalt took there time! It shows in the tools quality build, and there tools performance! For those of you that are unfamiliar with the advantages of Li-ion chemistry over NiCd & NiMH, please use your favorite search engine, and read for yourselves. There is plenty of good information online for you! I do see 1 or 2 people complaining about Li-ion batteries not performing as good as the older NiCd batteries, and truthfully, those people have NO facts to back up there statements. Li-ion batteries are a Very slow self drain, to NO self drain battery, meaning they keep there charge for a very long time! They have superior storage capacity, and integrated circuitry, to control & regulate, high output voltage and current, over heating, and over charging. There is no more memory effect, like there is in NiCd batteries. They are very safe to use (today), with there built in IC's If these are on par with some of the best Li-ion batteries made today, they should be able to be recharged up to 500 times, and possibly more. I'm not sure what DeWalt says on this. Though all batteries suffer, when used in cold weather, (lower output & performance), Li-ion batteries still out perform other batteries, in both work load & work time. In other words, you couldn't ask for a better battery to use out in the cold! You can find many fact based web sites on this as well. One last thing, both these new line of 20V MAX tools, and these new line of 20 volt batteries get good reviews and ratings from 99% of buyers, so when you do read one of those unfounded reviews saying these are not good tools, please just do your own homework and fact find for yourself, in the end, you'll be glad you did! Professional Quality Tools & Batteries, I Highly Recommended!!!

Good Stuff!
Weird, Ordered 4 Ah, received 4 Ah. Anyway the 4Ah seems to be the best balance between weight and longevity. The 2Ah don't last long in anything but the drill. Grinder, blower, sander go through a 2Ah fast. The %Ah and 6Ah are pretty heavy holding onto for any length of time. That said. Love the 20V Dewalt tools and batteries Would recommend.

Would buy again
Good price. I use these daily at work and they are still holding charge like new.

High quality batteries, fit my DEWALT cordless tools correctly
This DEWALT 20V MAX 4 Ah Lithium Ion Battery 2-Pack arrived on time and well packaged. I've used these two batteries several times now in my DEWALT cordless leaf blower, various drills and other DEWALT tools. The difference in weight between these 4Ah batteries and the original 1.x DEWALT batteries was surprisingly not an issue. The 4Ah batteries provide power MUCH longer than my 1.x batteries of course, so it is a time-saver not having to go get another battery, or carry and extra one with me, while using my DEWALT leaf blower to clear the driveway and sidewalks after mowing. I also no longer have to use the 1.x batteries to power my leaf blower, which saves having to constantly charge the 1.x batteries, saving them for use with my cordless drills. I've had these batteries since May 2024 and would recommend them. I would buy this set again.

SUCH an upgrade from the 1.5ah 20V's that came with my Drill & Impact Driver Set.
LONG STORY SHORT: I am so glad I bought these. They were more reasonably priced than the ones on SALE at the "Orange Hardware Store" (I got this 2 pack for $89.99). Seems to me like they are an older year/older model, but they work great. Current price at time of writing is $105 for the pair, or $59.55 for a single one. Even at $105 it's worth it. **THESE ARE CURRENTLY $129 at the Orange Store** PROS: -Did a little research (not a ton) and seems as though this battery not only has a longer battery LIFE than the 1.5ah that comes with many kits...but it also packs more power. Makes sense, and it definitely feels like it actually does. My saw seems to cut better through thicker stuff, sander seems more powerful, as does the drill, and impact driver. I'm sure there's science behind it, but I don't know it. -Great price! The 20V MAX lithium-ion battery outperforms every dewalt battery that came before it and that's saying a lot. Get long-lasting power and prolonged life from this 4ah battery that weighs just 1.42 lbs. Each battery has a built-in charge meter so you know how much power remains. Dewalt delivers huge value with this multi-pack, priced only marginally higher than a single device. HIGHLIGHTS: Includes: (2) 20V MAX high-capacity lithium-ion batteries Compatible with all 20V Max lithium-ion chargers and power tools (sold separately) Batteries maintain charge when not in use Compatible with the entire line of 20V Max tools CONS: -You can get lighter 4ah batteries in Power Stack form, but they are more expensive. CONCLUSION: Buy. I recommend them. They work with all my Dewalt 20V tools, hold a charge well, have a lot of power, last longer than the ones that come in a kit.

The best of the best
DeWalt 20V battery pack varieties, capacities and runtimes: Learn from my mistake. Not all batteries are created equal. I needed the DeWalt 20V cordless circular saw and the tool-only option was so much cheaper than the tool with 1 battery and charger, that I was almost able to buy a 20V drill, charger and 2 batteries with the savings, so that's what I did. While shopping for the new 20V drill, I had vaguely noticed slight differences in the sizes and colors of the batteries that came with them and I also noticed large disparity in the prices of various 20V drills. I purchased the cheapest one (it was mostly for the batteries after all) and, in general, thought that both the saw and the drill performed with excellence; however, on jobs where I was using only the drill, I noticed I could go all day on 1 battery, but on days where I needed the saw, I noticed the second battery was dead long before the first one had a chance to re-charge. That is when I started to take notice of the different sizes and colors of the various DeWalt 20V battery packs out there. It wasn't easy to find hard numbers to compare one to another, but I did manage to find what I was looking for by cobbling together information from multiple websites. Here is what I found: Model Capacity Name Color Size DCB201 - 1.5Ah - 20V compact - black - thin DCB200 - 3.0Ah - 20V standard - black - thick DCB203 - 2.0Ah - 20V XR compact - yellow - thin DCB204 - 4.0Ah - 20V XR premium - yellow - thick As you can see from the table, the compact eXtreme Runtime battery gives you 33% more runtime than the compact, the standard 20V gives you 100% more runtime than the compact and the XR premium gives you 266% more runtime than the compact. Purchasing this 2 pack of XR premium nearly tripled my runtime from 3Ah total (2 x 1.5) to 11Ah total (2 x 1.5 + 2 x 4) for both tools. My crew is now capable of running both tools all day without re-charging, but I didn't need the drill and the batteries that came with it weren't getting the job done with the saw. I should have purchased this discounted 2-pack of XR Premium batteries instead of the drill and pocketed some savings. Price: All 4 battery varieties are available in 1 and 2-packs. Prices vary and sales happen, so things may change, but at the time of my purchase, the DCB204 2-pack was absolutely the best value for Ah/$ and enabled me to increase the most runtime for the fewest dollars by far and away over the smaller batteries or the XR premium 1-pack. Size and weight: The tools and the batteries have performed flawlessly thus far and just work all day without recharging. The only trade offs I have noticed with the DCB204 XR premium batteries is that they are much more suited for the saw than the drill. They are more than twice as heavy as the compact batteries and, for those of you who are familiar with the DeWalt line of 18V batteries, they are only slightly smaller and lighter than those and add considerable heft and imbalance to the drill. The extra weight is only felt when carrying the saw, but not while running it. As a result, we have developed a workaround of using the XR premium batteries on the saw and the compact ones on the drill and that enables both tools to run all day. Lesson learned, just because the batteries are interchangeable, doesn't mean they will accomplish what you set out to do with them. Get the big batteries for your big tools!
