Product Description DHOOM (BLAST) Dhoom starts with a bang, and continues with a lot more right until the end. The tale begins in Mumbai where a sophisticated gang of robbers is sweeping through the city, giving nightmares to the police department. They come like the wind, sweep the place and disappear on their hi-tech bikes - the slickest and fastest riding machine on the road. Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan), an honest police officer is brought in on the case. Soon he is on the trail of the robbers-a gang headed by Kabir (John Abraham), an evil perfectionist with an attitude. Jai ropes in the services of Ali (Uday Chopra), a happy-go-lucky garage mechanic and a prodigious bike rider. The two don't get along at first, but soon Jai realizes that the clown can ride bikes like the wind and decides to team up with him to try and bring the robbers to justice. Kabir soon catches up on Jai-Ali's teaming up and his arrogance pushes him to take up the challenge openly. From the mean streets of Mumbai, the chase shifts to the sun kissed beaches of Goa. And so starts the hunt ... where sometimes the hunter becomes the hunted. Dhoom reinvents the classic cops and robbers tale and brings it into the 21st century. With fast bikes, big action, non-stop fun and a thrilling story, Dhoom is like your favourite roller coaster ride ... once you're on, the only thing you want to do is to go back and take that ride all over again ! Come... let DHOOM take you to the ride of your life ! Review Director Sanjay Gadhvi has experimented with a totally new theme in Dhoom-packed with action, entertainment and fun. This Yashraj film production is an ideal movie for all those who could not watch Hollywood flicks like Italian Job, Fast And The Furious, Oceans Eleven and Matrix Reloaded. The director gives the desi viewers the best of the mix and in turn comes up with what can be claimed to be India's first bike flick. The film's focal point is action and though it lags behind when compared to Hollywood flicks, one must admit that Sanjay Gadhvi has tried his best to present it to the Bollywood public with the right dosage of "masala" that they crave for. John Abraham is truly brilliant, playing an out and out villain. Abhishek has done a good job as well though the characterisation of his role was not strong enough. Uday Chopra adds the much-needed humour in the film and is worth an applause. The music by Preetam and lyrics by Samir is average with the title song being sung constantly. Camerawork and editing is polished and enhances the pace of the movie. Overall, a must watch ! --www.platform47.comWhen the Bollywood kitsch is wrapped in a glossy package and peppered with something still unseen (in Hindi films) as nail-biting chases on superfast bikes, a viewer is obviously going to get tempted to spend the money worth a ticket to see John Abraham, Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan in their speed-thrilling acts on some of the fastest mean machines in the world.Director Sanjay Gadhavi's Dhoom is an action thriller that has been shot very stylistically and presented in a sleek way with the use of fast editing and suitable background music.Dhoom is an action thriller with an overdose of bike chases and speed-thrills. Uday Chopra chips in some light moments in this otherwise gritty fare with his 'tongue-in-cheek' humor. Abhishek Bachchan needs to master a few emotive expressions other than his usual brooding. Pleasantly fun
Part action, part comedy, great fun, not to be taken to seriously. As for the villain, not your common garden variety. He's stylish, restrained, and somewhat mysterious. There are four songs. My favourite was the second one.

Too long opening
The movie would have been much better if Abishek Bachchan's hero is less supermanly, so you are not laughing out loud at many of his antics. Otherwise John Abraham as the antagonist is charming as ever, so you found yourselves root for him throughout the whole movie. The title song is great, nevertheless, as are some of the action scenes - usually where the bike is in use. What really irks me is this idea you put some adds and VERY long reading menu at the beginning, which you cannot skip and have to endure every time you put the DVD into the player. It may be funny for the first time, but not for the next, as many people buy DVDs for multiple viewing. That's why only 2 stars, otherwise I would give more.

Very silly, but quite fun
This isn't the best Bollywood in the world, in fact it's not even close. However, it's high box office sales can easily be explained - it is a fun, action filled film with really catchy songs and lots of sexy dancing. The story line is fairly absurd, but in a fun way, and the comedy is rather obvious and unsophisticated. But it's a great time pass film and will especially be enjoyed by youngsters.
