Hogue OverMolded Rubber Grip with Finger Grooves for SIG SAUER P228 and P229, Black - 28000

I recently purchased the Hogue rubber grips for my 9mm Sig Sauer P229. The grips are easy to install; just unscrew the old ones and screw on the new ones.The grip is noticeably wider than the traditional stock grips and would be best suited to those with larger hands. The excellent grip texture and finger grooves make the pistol very comfortable and smooth to handle.I have heard a few friends comment that the bulky grips can sometimes get snagged on the undershirt when drawing from an in-the-waistband holster. I have one of these holsters and have not noticed any issues drawing the gun.Overall, these are excellent grips for an excellent price.

I HAVE SEVERAL HANDGUNS, AND TRIED MANY DIFFERENT GRIPS. THESE ARE THE BEST FIT AND FEEL OF THEM ALL. YES, THE EXPENSIVE REAL WOOD GRIPS LOOK GREAT, BUT THESE ARE MUCH EASIER TO GRIP. I NOW HAVE HOGUE RUBBER GRIPS, WITH FINGER GROOVES, ON ALL MY GUNS. BEST OF ALL, THE PRICE. YOU CAN PAY OVER $100 FOR THE FANCY ONES, BUT THESE ARE ABOUT $20, AND EASY TO INSTALL.

Far superior grip and control of the firearm than with the good looking Rosewood Grips my P229 Elite Stainless came with. These grips are comfortable, cushy, and fit my hand well with excellent grip. Glad I upgraded. Save the wooden grips for formal affairs, because the rubber grips offer superior control of the weapon.

Hogue makes a great after market product here. Again for you folks out there looking to improve you Sig Sauer M11-A1 this is it. Use that 228 on the side of your grip for ordering items...it's there for a reason. I've been able to get a tight fitting SigTac holster for I ad hoping that the Galco leather holster I ordered will fit just as well. But after shooting with the Hogue grip on the weapon I can tell you the recoil is almost unnoticeable. Either get this one or without finger groves and you'll be happy you did so. Gives those of us that need a slightly larger grip than the stock it came with a good upgrade.

I love Hogue grips. I have a pair of the finger gooved rubber grips on my 1911. I initially put the Hogue 2 piece rubber grips on my P229. They were just a tad small for my hands so I odered these. What a difference. These grips give me a much firmer grip on my gun. It's like these grips were made for my hands. Another great grip by Hogue. If you have small hands and own a P229, get the Hogue two piece rubber grips. They are alot thinner but still are very grippy. Much more so than the sig polymer grips. I have attached pictures of my P229 with both grips on it.

I was getting a pinch every time I fired my P229 and I found out that it isn't that uncommon of an issue with this pistol. The Equinox was already fitted with a short reach trigger and the wood grips always had seemed to be a little larger for me. So to help cure the issue I was told to try a different set of grips. Long story short the finger pinch is gone and the gun fits my hand much better. Maybe it is the grippy rubber or the grip pushes my hand higher on the trigger, but I am quite satisfied with my set of grips. Installation was a breeze. The only recommendation I would make is to add a choice to include the proper mounting screws. Because of the wood grips and being the Equinox version of the p229 mine screws were stainless steel or maybe brushed nickel. Easy availability of black matching screws wood have been a great benefit.

Love Hogue grips. I have them on a lot of guns. This review is not for Hogue, it’s for Amazon. This is the third time this has happened to me when I purchase Hogue grips from Amazon. They’ve been labeling the cases wrong and sending them out. On top of that I have to return both items at different locations. One location is by my house, the other is not even close. Thanks for that. It’s not that I’m mad about this whole situation. I’m just disappointed. If you guys want the right grips, order from Hogue. If you want a guessing game which can be fun, but you’ll have to return both items. Order from here.
