Sugarbug Doug: All About Cavities, Plaque, and Teeth Review: great informative book for young readers and parents! - This is a great book to teach young children, mainly toddlers, of how and why we brush our teeth. As a registered dental hygienist and a mother of a toddler boy I found this book a great learning tool. It discusses what 'sugarbugs' are and how to get rid of them, what types of food are 'good' foods and what is considered 'bad' foods. Ultimately it encourages young readers to take better care of their teeth & I am all about that! The reading level is perfect for the 1-5 year range, it is not a rhyming book though. I strongly recommend this to help parents and children understand the importance of keeping teeth clean! Review: Engaging and informative. - My son, who is now 10, still loves this book. We first ordered it when he was 3 to help teach him the importance of brushing and I never expected it to become one of his favorite childhood books. Thanks for creating such an educational and fun book.

Perfect
I first came across this book in my daughter's dentist office. It was so adorable. She was moved by the story and the illustration. She was absolutely disgusted by the thought of Sugar Bug Doug peeing acid on in her mouth. She is an avid brusher. We found it when she was maybe one and a half or two and now she is five and loves brushing away those sugar bugs. She has never had a cavity. I'm happy that it encouraged her to brush and stay in that habit. Now I, don't have to do all the work or convince her to do anything. I had her in the dental chair at 6 months I think. Dentist and brushing are kinda fun. Highly recommend this book.

Great book about teeth hygiene for toddlers
I love this book! I got it for my 2.5 year old daughter when she started resisting teeth brushing. She wants to brush all the time now, especially with fluoride toothpaste to kill the sugarbugs! Its a cute book that’s informative and easy for a toddler to follow.

Cute, fun book about tooth brushing
This is a cute book. My daughter loves it and asks for it over and over again. She loves to say "Sugarbug Doug." However, it has not led to her brushing her teeth any more often than before. She is on the spectrum, so maybe she is having trouble connecting the story of Sugarbug Doug to what is actually happening in her mouth. It's a cute parable, but it may not be literal enough for my daughter.

Every child should have this book!
As a Registered Dental Assistant I have to say I’m impressed with this book! My 2 year old son loves books & is finally associating sugar bugs as the reason for us to brush & floss every day. The illustrations & story line are great! The end of the book has dental terminology broken down for kids, along with illustrations. Such a great educational tool!

Bought for my three year old neice and seven year old nephew who both weren't thrilled about brushing their teeth. This book was an unexpected hit with the three year old. Very age appropriate logic behind why we brush our teeth and how "sugar bugs" (plaque) can damage our teeth. Would highly recommend

I'm an oral health educator, and found this book while trying to find resources for classes. It's absolutely adorable and so informative. The fact that the author allows reproduction for schools and dental practices is brilliant. Would absolutely recommend this book for OHEs, schools and parents.

More complex than I thought it would be so our toddler lost interest quickly. Good for older children.

A really cute book that explains to kids what happens when you eat sugar and other unhealthy foods and how they can keep their teeth healthy. My kids enjoyed it and were more careful in how they brush their teeth.
