Q: Are these strings long enough to work on regular headstock 8 string guitars?

On most, I would say- as long as you’re using locking tuners or not too much wind on normal tuners. I just put them on my 28” scale Jackson, with the AT-1 style headstock and auto-trim licking tuners, and there was lots of room to spare on every string. The shortest remainder was on the D string with about 2” of (actual wound) string left.

Q: Are these good for drop tunings? Mainly with a smidge more brightness out of the 8th string?

I run them drop turning on my 7 they're great I'm sure the 8 string set will be just as good! Strings last a while too love btbam!
