I’m afraid of a lot of things so this book jumped out at me. It’s a little pricey since it’s out of print but it’s perfect! Each page highlights a different phobia with the definition. Every pop-up is so clever and terrifying and amusing. A really great book.

This is the third copy of the book I have purchased over the last few years,as everyone has loved our copy so much. It's not only a conversation starter,but beautifully and creatively done. It was in used condition, but not to theextent there was any concern. Thanks.

When I lent this book to a psychologist down the hall, I asked him to put it in a paper bag if he needed to leave it in my waiting room. Why?This is one of the funniest books I have read, but if you actually have phobias, you have to be in the "right place" in your recovery to appreciate the humor.I would recommend it for adolescents and adults who find that humor helps them step back and laugh at their anxiety, phobias or obsessiveness. This book consists of paper pop-up depictions of phobias including fear of dentists, fear of heights and fear of snakes. The person who worked on this book has clearly been through it himself. I can't imagine any other way that someone could get this so vividly. Open a page, and your worst fear literally jumps right in your nose. Not for young children or those who are especially sensitive.I would have given it five stars if he had done a page on thunderstorms. The book was like new, very clean, with tight binding and no damage.

I got this because it looks cool and second because I’m a mental health nurse. Everyone I show it to agrees it is unique and a great addition to any library.

I got this book as a gift for someone in the mental health field, and it was truly enjoyed! In fact, people cannot pass it without some degree of curiosity and they just have to open it. The phobias are common enough to be familiar to the reader. The images themselves are "over the top," so that they are comical as well as informing. The dentist phobia, for instance, has a drill that pops out at you with a terrifying looking dentist and assistant. The death phobia has a grave with people gathered around. It's best displayed on a shelf where it can be truly appreciated!
