desertcart.com: amika curl corps defining cream, 200ml : Beauty & Personal Care Review: Smells like heaven and actually defines my curls without the crunch. - I’ve tried dozens of curl creams, from drugstore brands to high-end salon lines, but the amika Curl Corps Defining Cream is the one I keep coming back to. If you have hair that tends to "poof" the moment you walk outside, this is going to be your new best friend. The Breakdown: Texture & Consistency: It’s a true cream—silky and lightweight. Unlike some heavy butters that weigh down your hair and make it look greasy by Day 2, this absorbs beautifully. It provides a "soft-touch" hold, meaning your curls look defined and coiled but feel like actual hair, not straw. The "Signature" Scent: If you’ve used amika before, you know the smell. It’s their signature sea buckthorn berry scent—warm, spicy, and slightly floral. It’s one of the few hair products I get complimented on regularly. Frizz Control: I live in a high-humidity area, and this cream is a lifesaver. It seals the cuticle perfectly. I apply it to soaking wet hair using the "praying hands" method, and it keeps my ringlets intact even after diffusing. Clean Ingredients: As someone conscious of hair health, I love that it’s sulfate-free, paraben-free, and vegan. It feels like a treatment and a styler in one. Pros: No "Crunch" Factor: There is zero "cast" or stiffness. You don't have to "scrunch out the crunch" because the curls stay soft from the start. A Little Goes a Long Way: The 200ml tube lasts a surprisingly long time. For shoulder-length hair, a nickel-sized amount is usually enough. Versatile: It works just as well for air-drying on a lazy Sunday as it does for a full blowout with a diffuser. Cons: The Price Point: It’s definitely a premium product. However, given the results and how little you need to use, the value is there. Not for Fine/Straight Hair: This is specifically for curls and waves. If your hair is very fine or straight, it might be a bit too moisturizing and could weigh it down. Review: Smells nice and does the job. - My curly haired son likes it, his curls are now more defined.

Works great but priced like liquid gold.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have started using this in the shower before I get out, and it's definitely gotten me some compliments. My hair looks defined without crunch. One of the few that doesn't have Avacodo Oil (which I'm allergic to). Gave it 4 stars only because it's super expensive. I don't think this will last long. I have 3b shoulder length curls.

This product is fantastic!
I have curly, wavy hair. However, it’s only been over the last few years that I’ve gone with it (at least since I was a toddler!) I had ReCurl recommended by a stylist; it was so heavy that it actually straightened my curls. For the last several months I’ve put nothing on my hair. The curls were there but they went where they wanted, mostly in my face. I researched a better solution & repeatedly found this one at the top of folks’ lists. Today I trimmed & shaped my hair (after getting excellent, precise advice from Claude AI on how to cut it…just sayin’). It was the first time I used the product. It is amazing! It is very lightweight but does what it advertises: Great curls with great styling ability. Plus, the scent is terrific—light but discernible. When I sit on my screened porch, the ceiling fan wafts it all around me. I love this stuff, & will definitely buy it again.

Great shine and definition!
I have fine, thin, permed hair, so this was a little too thick straight out of the bottle. I mixed in some water and it was perfect. I tested it alongside OUAI and JVN curl creams with the same parameters: wet hair, no other products, air dry. While the others came close, this one left my curls shinier and more well defined. It also had better second day results. I got my hair wet again, no wash, and styled without adding any product and it was nearly as good as the first day, even a little softer and bouncier. I also love the scent and the bottle design.

I tried this at my local hairdressers. I have searched high and low for a product that defines curls without crunchiness or unnecessary drying out of my hair due to alcohols. I’ve tried devacurl and LUS and both made my hair really heavy and greasy and tangled within a day or two. This I just re wet my curls and add a tad bit more in where needed. My hair is soft and bouncy. The smell is very strong for the small amount you use so fragrance sensitive people may be offended by the smell. I am sensory sensitive and get migraines from smells but I’ve gotten used to it. Everyone says I smell amazing haha.
