Q: What is the percentage of alpaca, acrylic...etc....?

I'm not certain, sorry. I will say I'm happy to get your question as it means they are back in stock so I can buy another pair. I am an avid ice fisherman and I love going to Lambeau to watch my Packers. These are the ONLY socks that have held up to -5 degrees. Well made, durable, a must buy.

Yes, they are knee socks. They fit the average - tall sized shin. They are wonderful!

Q: Why do they have to be laid flat to dry?

Our alpaca socks last longer when they are laid flat to dry. You may tumble them on your dryers lowest setting, however the tumbling action as well as the suction drawing air out of the dryer will cause the fibers to break and will pull the alpaca out causing your socks to loose the thermal fibers. Drying with heat can cause natural fibers to felt, so we recommend laying flat to dry to have your alpaca socks last longer and keep you and your feet happy! Hope this helps!
