Day It Rained Hearts: A Creative Valentine Story About Friendship for Children (Ages 4-8)

We love, "The Day it Rained Hearts." Discovered it at the library 3 years ago, and finally bought it this year when we were late to checking out Valentine's books, we love it that much! I like to read the story, and then talk about why she made each valentine for that specific friend. We then make Valentines together. I'll ask my daughter who she wants to send a valentine to, and then make a card for that person in mind, just like in the book. Each year she looks forward to making Valentines to send to others and reading this story.

Such a cute book to read to my class! Love how it helps show kindness to animals! 😀

I got this for my son when he was three and he liked it so much it insipred him to make hearts and crafts every year for his friends and he's six now. I think the ending is great because it suggests she finds new and different ways to show her friends appreciation each year. I also like it cause it's sensitive and promotes giving during Valentine's not just getting.

Cute story - short & sweet. There’s not a whole lot to it. Great for younger kinds.
