Don't believe the bad reviews
OMG I LOVE THESE SALT AND PEPPER GRINDERS!!!!! I first saw them on food52 website. I was hesitate because of the price tag so I waited month to buy them. Finally my old ones broke so I had to buy new ones. Yes they are made from plastic, however you would not know it. It's a very sturdy plastic and looks so nice in my kitchen. I see some people complaining that it's not a fine grind. You can adjust the grind on each one and instructions are attached. I have no problem with the grind and thinks it grind pretty fine! They are pretty, i got the ones in nude and they go perfect in my dark kitchen. Really stand out!

Absolutely brilliant
I first saw these in a restaurant and had forgotten about them. I was delighted to find them on Amazon and in so many colors. I think the colors look beautiful in my kitchen. They are on full display. The colors are just as they look online. I love how they are so minimalistic and soft to the touch. The wood on top looks high quality. They don't grind as well as I would like but they are so stunning that I love them. They are super easy to fill and clean and look like they will last a long time. Great job Amazon for offering so many beautiful and well-rounded kitchen items. I will definitely buy these for my friends who have everything.

Bottles are not ceramic, only the grinder mechanism is
The grinders are a bit larger than I thought they would be, but i do like the style and so far they function very well. You can adjust from a medium coarse grind to a very very fine grind. You will not need to refill often because of their size. I made the mistake of thinking the bottles themselves were ceramic, but it is only the grinder mechanism that is. For the price, the bottles feel like they are little on the cheap side; molder plastic with matte "ceramic-like" finish. Overall, I'll keep them as the style is unique and they function well, but I imagined they would have been a little more substantial in construction.

Salt and Pepper with Style!
These salt and pepper grinders are absolutely perfect! Stylish to the eye, easy to use, VERY easy to clean – the perfect addition to a modern farmhouse kitchen. I love that they are coated - when you pick them up they feel smooth, but they allow for a little bit of grip when you are using the grinder mechanism. Makes it super functional for smaller hands to use as well.

beautiful
Beautiful salt and pepper mills. Bought these because I was so tired of the mess from others we have tried. leftover salt and pepper on the table always. They are easy to fill and hold a lot which means not having to re-fill often, great! They are a bit pricey, but so far seem to be worth the money. Very unique and modern looking.

Not impressed, unfortunately
Well, these are not glass, they are a very cheap plastic and the different coarse selector doesn’t change the coarseness of the salt and pepper. Everything comes out VERY coarse. They are just nice to look at.

Buy them!
I purchased these almost a year ago and they are exactly what I was looking for. Heavy duty, yet, beautiful and practical. No more salt and pepper flakes on the counter. But them.

Mixed feelings, not worth the high price, but beautiful
I have mixed feelings. 1. These are WAY bigger than I expected - they are listed as a small set and I guess in my head I didn't visualize them bring so...large. I've gotten used to them. Each one is about 10" tall. 2. They *are beautiful* but they don't seem especially nice for the price you pay. The main material is just plastic with some sort of soft-touch rubberized coating on the outside. I'm worried that over time, pulling the halves apart to fill with salt or peppercorns will break the inside tabs or crack something. Not that this has happened, I'm just concerned. I feel like for almost $100 they should have a heavier, sturdier build. The soft touch coating shows every bit of grease on your hands and looks constantly dirty. 3. As for the grind, the instructions weren't particularly helpful - the top wooden part show like 4 grind levels. you turn 4 times, you turn 5 times, you turn 6 times - it just keeps turning with a very slight click. What they don't tell you is that there is like 20 different "levels", giving you a lot of control of the coarseness and grind. Once you know that, it'll be easier for you to adjust. Took me a while to get what was going on. Both mills grind wonderfully and easily. I am very happy with this part of the product. TIP: when adjusting the grind, hold to the bottom half of grinder - if you don't, the top that you're twisting can sometimes pop out of place (and just start spinning with no "click') and will need some turns back and forth to snap back in it's track. 4. When you do clean them, they are just BEAUTIFUL. I'm living with the issues I have because they are just so gosh darn striking.
