Q: what is the temperature range?

It will regulate to a temperature of 80 deg C,. Word of caution, there doesnt appear to be a safety Temp limit, allowing the heating pad to be programmed up to 220 deg C, where the heating pad melts and catches fire! There is no thermal insulation in the base of unit, needs to be put on a heavy silicone pad. Product is unsafe, should not be sold to public.

Q: What is the size of the heated area? I have a Microsoft Surface 4 to repair.

I'm answering my own question. This is NOT big enough for a Microsoft Surface 4. The maximum pad area is 180mm long. A Surface 4 is 192mm long. That's a half inch longer. Simply put, one of the edges of the Surface 4 screen will NOT get heated since the bezel is only about 1mm wide and the glue area is just inside that. Looks like I'll have to return it and get a bigger one. So much for relying on advice from an Apple guy.

It can select 110V or 220V, Please check the voltage selection on the side where the power cord is inserted，You can choose with a screwdriver.

Q: Do I still need to disassemble my phone prior to using or can I just directly put the (whole) phone screen side down?

The heating pad is needed to disassemble the screen from the phone casing. Most phones and tablets use a glue to keep the screen in place. The heating pad heats the glue to make it soft enough to detach the screen. If your phone has parts that come off like a stylus, an outer case, or a back piece for a replaceable battery, remove those first. (If not, like an iPhone, don’t worry.) Then, place the remainder of the phone screen down on the heating pad. It will take several minutes to heat the glue enough for the screen to be detached. This is DIFFICULT if you haven’t done it before. Do yourself a favor by checking a website like iFixit to see what is inside your phone or tablet first. That way, you will know where the connectors, etc. are located so as not to damage the electronic inside.
