poor quality control on bags and company doesn't stand behind defective (unsealed/open) bags
we bought the original compokeeper from costco. not bad! but i take it the way the company makes back money is on these bag refills, which can be fairly pricey. a year ago (8/2016) they ran 75 cents per bag--now in 8/2017 they are running at 98 cents/bag. of the two boxes we opened so far, 3 bags have failed. meaning, they are open on both ends. if you put anything in it, it would fall right through. (picture attached)we contacted the compokeeper seller via amazon and compokeeper said it is not their problem and we need to resolve it with amazon. wha? that sounds like the absolute wrong customer service attitude, esp for something that is priced several times more expensive than biobags. i mean, seriously, how hard is it to mail me one of your light bags (weighing less than an ounce) via usps snail mail? total cost to compokeeper: first class stamp, envelope, and bag. maybe $1. but losing a customer? very expensivegiven the low quality control that compokeeper has, the inability of the company to stand behind its product, and the short 30 day amazon window for returns, i have to suggest that IF you are a customer, then check all 12 bags in each box you buy immediately. otherwise you could be screwed just like we were by compokeeper.UPDATE: 3/2018 in yet another box, we found two more unsealed bags. now, we buy primode compost bags. much stronger. expensive ($1.20 per bag), but at least they are sealed on both ends.

Biodegradable, but not when you want them to be.
These bags are supposed to be biodegradable. I guess in some sense they are, but not in any good way. Several times now before the bag was full it degraded and leaked, making a mess and attracting fruit flies. In any case, leaky or not, I put the full bags on the compost pile. Six months later they had yet to decompose, so I had to pull them out and throw them in the garbage.

We love our compokeeper
We love our compokeeper, and these bags are the perfect fit. They only ever start to break down and leak if we have lots of wet stuff in there and it's warm and we neglect to empty it on time. Otherwise we empty weekly or more often if it's full, and the bag always holds up.

and so I would recommend taking your compost out biweekly to prevent it from ...
My only comment about these is since they are compostable, they do break down, and so I would recommend taking your compost out biweekly to prevent it from spilling over into your bin if you keep it inside and don't want a smelly kitchen OR line your bin with a trash bag!

Good fit.
Fits our bin perfectly with enough left over to tie a knot.

These are good but quite expensive. I'd give them a five except for price.
