Not long enuff to go wall to wall in a standard room. I purchased conduit in length and drilled holes to extend the length. Also had to modify it to strengthen. Other than that I am happy with it

Q: I have two 8' by 10' area rugs that sit on top of my wall 2 wall carpet and furniture sits on the area rugs & rolls develop on top can I use a kicker?

Kickers destroy the fibers of the carpet. I personally wouldnt use a kicker.

Q: The manual recommends the use of a knee kicker in addition to this item. If I have a standard square room why is a knee kicker also needed?

Honestly all you need is a knee kicker, besides you can only use the telescopic type stretcher straight out from walls. I bought this thing when I was new at putting carpet down and found it wasn't needed, and isn't built all that well either. I wouldn't recommend buying this item. Just get yourself a good knee kicker and you're good to go.
