First, why I chose this product. My wife has is allergic to a number of things that cause contact dermatitis, eczema. These include scents that are added to products, balsam of Peru, plus a number of other things. She couldn’t touch my hair if it had any product in it at all. Changing to this and our products not only helped my wife, but also helped me.As for how it works… My hair is fine and I have a lot of it. I have cowlicks and required my stylist to texturize my hair almost every time it is cut. I used Hurricane Hold pomade before, which worked well, but left my hair tacky. I find this product tames the fly away frizz and give a nice styling hold, but with a natural feel that isn’t tacky or makes my hair feel like a helmet. While is won’t stand up to a hurricane, I find i can simply run my fingers through and put my hair back in place and it still has a natural, styled look.

Love the hold, and the fact that this product doesn't agitate my skin. I recommend this product.

I used got2b Playful pomade for years. Then they discontinued it and I've been trying to find a decent replacement for a couple of years. I thought they'd started making it again because they used the same color packaging on something new. It made me itch like crazy. So I searched for something without scent and allergy friendly and came across Challenger Free. It has great hold without making my hair greasy. I got up this morning on day 2 and it was as simple as running a comb through my hair and it was like I'd just styled it out of the shower. My hair looks great. My scalp isn't broken out. I don't look like a 4 day old possum corpse when I wake up. Can't ask for much more than that. Thank you!

I especially like that this cream has no fragrance. I study a lot of health information, and the health experts are clear and unequivocal about the dangers of the fragrances in our products. I am a woman and I bought this product after a short haircut gave me a bad case of the "spikes." My straight hair was sticking up all over like I had a bad case of static electricity. That's just the way it falls with this short hairdo.This product has good hold but not great hold. I would prefer something stronger, but this was the strongest I could find and it has significantly stronger hold than a gel product I bought. A long time ago I had a hair wax by Jason brand; it had that magnificent hold I need, but I could no longer find it. This is a good enough replacement, and when I need to look good I am pleased to have this. I don't feel like I am harming my health by using it; the product has a clear, pure feeling. My brain is more important to me than my hair, so that is a priority.

Excellent hold in high humidity. Doesn't feel heavy or gooey. Very pleased.

Excellent hold, dries clear. My hair grows very thick and straight. To do anything with it apart from looking like Garth from Wayne's World requires product. Most products either come with a scent, or make hair appear wet or even greasy, or dry hard like cake batter. With this, I style the hair exactly as I want it fresh out of the shower then the product air-dries with the hair, leaving a clean styled look that lasts until I sleep on it or muss it up, so, all day or however long I need to look styled. Love it. Pricey but worth it. Will continue to buy it.

Does not flake as advertised. I wanted to like this cleaner ingredient product, but it irritated my scalp unfortunately when I would use it. Also it is pretty steep.

I’ve been using the Pomade for a couple of months now, and overall, I’m pleased. The non-scented formula is awesome for anyone who’s sensitive to strong smells, and I love that it’s non-comedogenic—it doesn’t irritate my scalp or skin.
