It worked very well for us. Used it to install about 400 sqft of 3/4" maple. Very few spit toungues with the 16 gauge cleats.The nailer itself jammed twice. Once, was the very first nail. Maybe the oil didnt get where it needed yet, or we didnt hit it right. It basically just fell out of the machine. 2nd time, same thing, was easy to get the nail out without any dissasembly. Took just seconds to clear.There were a few nails that did not go in all the way. I found the regulator on my tank was drifting a little low. After correcting pressures, everything was fine. Not too sensitive to mallet pressure either. Very predictable, easy to work with.The bottom pad did not mar the floor at all. Not that we slid it around. We generally picked it up an inch or so as we moved it. We did need to tighten/adjust all the loose bits they mention. I expect if you didnt do that you would have nothing but troubles. Check everything periodically ( ~2-3x a day depending on how long your day is for tightness. We may have slightly over oiled to be on the safe side. No appreciable oil came through into the wood.The PDX50C model looked better made, had a nicer mallet, and weight less than the PFL618BR model. Very happy with this purchase.

I did a 210sq ft floor and it didn’t jam once. After I got the depth dialed in from the compressor, all of the nails were at a consistent depth.

This is a great tool. In 2021 we had the first floor contractor refinish and add wood floor to the carpeted area. Expensive but worth it. In 2022 the cost to do the second floor went over $12000 and that didn't cover staircase, baseboard, painting etc. So we went DYI. I already owned the compressor and a bunch of tools. This tool made the project almost fun. My 13 yr old son work all day banging away. I cut and position. There is not a down side to this tool. But for the DYI, beware, they need to understand that no one tool can do 100% of the job. ie: heavy duty finishing nailer, old fashion hammer and nails, saws, sanders etc

Did not use it yet. The job I had need a 18 gauge nail that will work in the unit. Looking forward to using it on my next job. Should be easier that my old manual one.

I'm giving this 5 stars, but 4.5 might be more realistic.We bought this to install some pre-finished, solid maple flooring. This was the first time we had done hardwood flooring ourselves, and we figured this price was better than the price to rent the tool locally, considering we were doing about 750 sq. ft. of floor and the time it would take us to complete the floor. The Freeman nailer was an excellent choice, as the tool worked very well at driving the approximately 4,000 Bostitch L cleats that we needed for this project. There were a few jams early on, but after realizing that we hadn't released the pusher and were relying on gravity to feed the cleats, we didn't have a single jam.The only complaint we have is that it is rather easy to accidentally position the nailer incorrectly on the boards, and drive a cleat into the middle of the board rather than the tongue. This incidence of this decreased significantly over time, but it would be nice to have the foot shaped slightly differently so as to not have two steps in it in order to reduce/eliminate this problem.All but one of my other pneumatic nailers are Porter-Cable, but I would not hesitate to buy another Freeman product.

Upon opening the box it was apparent that the company is big on instructions. Included was the user manual, a quick instruction booklet, sample fasteners, and tools necessary for disassembly/reassembly. Very impressive. A nice mallet was included as well.However, the Bostitch staples, which matched the sample staple exactly and were the exact ones recommended by customer service, did not fit into the loading slot all the way, due apparently to a manufacturing issue. I disassembled the base and found a small piece of cardboard lodged in the area where the staples are ejected. However, after reassembly, the staples still did not feed properly.Customer service was excellent, though, and did their best to evaluate whether there were any issues with loading the fasteners or operation.Once it was determined that the condition could not be rectified, a replacement was sent and I received it A DAY LATER! This was prior to sending back the original. The replacement works very well.While I was disappointed with a malfunctioning unit I am very impressed with how the Company functions and recommend this product highly.

Worked great. Yes you can put a nail in the middle of a board if you don’t pay attention but it’s an operator error. Not a tool flaw. Just finished first 1000 sq ft of 3/4 hickory with no jams or other issues. Great tool.
