Absolutely wonderful book and patterns!
I received this gorgeous book a couple weeks ago, and have read it cover to cover....Im now IN LOVE with Luna & her friends!! As we speak, I am simultaneously sewing Luna & Clementine, but the holidays are slowing me down. Ill try to send a finished pic when im done. The instructions are SO CLEAR, the patterns (to be traced!!!) are the full doll's size.....& the most awesome part...is the added inclusion of patterns to make a beautiful tufted bed mattress; a gorgeous, yet simple bed quilt; an ADORABLE & cleverly made suitcase; clothes for each doll, and accessories. The author included beautiful, modern stories about Luna & her friends (this is no Peter Rabbit tale!). Ill be taking excellent care of this book, as I feel it is an heirloom.I chose NOT to use felt, so the dolls can be played with. I also chose to add 1/8" seam allowance & am using a machine to sew...im using minimal hand sewing. Im using white cotton for Luna, and a mottled orange, yellow, & brown fabric for Clementine....I want her to be an orange tabby cat. I also chose to use Luna's body for Clementine and traced the necessary adjustments at the shoulder and neck opening on my pattern. I liked Luna's floppy legs and bottom over Clementine's button-jointed legs & "flat" bottom.I'd say that a beginner CAN sew these patterns, if they understand going into this project that time and extra effort are involved in hand-sewing, and small pattern pcs. Read the book COMPLETELY before beginning, and review the patterns. All levels of sewists will find great satisfaction in making such a beautiful & unique doll.

We Love Luna and her Friends!
I've come to expect the best from the Luna books and this one delivers. Inside you'll find patterns for Luna, Wilhemina the wood mouse, Raynard the Fox, Freddie the Badger and Clementine the Cat as well as outfits for all 5 of them. Luna has a tie shoulder dress and a nightie included in this book, all others have one base outfit included - the ones shown on the cover. Also included are accessories (purse and suitcase) as well as a full bed set including the mattress, pillows, sheets and a hexagonal quilt pattern. Add this to Sarah's first book which gave Luna a ton of clothes, a chair and patterns for her brother Alfie and I've got a giant sewing project to make for my daughter. She's so excited picking out the fabrics for her animals and she loves looking at the beautiful full color photos and reading the sweet stories included inside about Luna and her friends. Side note: I'm in the process of making a Luna out of short pile fur as an experiment and she's coming out quite well, despite the pattern calling for wool felt.

I love these little animals and so do my friends
I mixed and matched clothes and made five of these for a group of friends at Christmas. Each came with their own story and name that I wrote on their behalf about why my friend should adopt them. They often had similar interests or characteristics. It was so much fun! We are quilters and all animals found new homes in my friends’ studios. They even sent me updates. I love that twirly dress! And the opera coat which I made from emerald green velvet.

Wonderful book!
I just love this book! I have the 1st book, Making Luna Lapin, and can't wait to start sewing! I love how the authorentertwines a story into each character. Each character's "chapter" is so descriptive and well written it makes you feel like you're "there". However, I don't believe that the patterns are for the beginner, they look quite involved. I do recommend buying the book and trying them out. If it is too complicated for you, put it up on the shelf, sew a few beginner things and work your way up to Luna. It will be well worth it!

Good
It's good enough (I've only cut out the pieces for the cat) but there was no baby Luna and you have to really flatten it to get a printing of the patterns. I can't fix the flattening but I can just scan the patterns I want and print them at half page and then I can do the same for clothes for the little ones
