Great Inverter
I was replacing my dead 1500w modified sine Inverter that I used for 13 years at my cabin. I wanted to upgrade to pure sine but I was chocking on the cost. I found this Inverter is priced very reasonable. Its made by a very well known manufacture, on this side of the pond (Canada). Has a in your face remote display so you don't get a crick in your neck trying to read the thing. Has a snooze mode so it draws very little power yet stills lets small wattage devices work, like lights and TV while still in snooze mode. Has the latest greatest high frequency dual transformer, 2011 design stuff inside which makes it smaller and lighter than other Inverters. It has enough safety features to protect it from its owner like low volt alarm and shutdown and GFI plugs. But the main reason I choose this Inverter was the fact this was the only inverter I found with a TWO year warranty and I think that says a lot about the manufacturer and their product.

Ok to a extent
Great inverter, it can almost power anything using a 120v outlet. however i don't like how the fans run all of the time since this is powering a all solar garage with a mini fridge running all of the time in the summer, after a few months the fans don't sound good and eventually i might need to replace them because of the cost of the inverter. overall it outputs a clean pure sine wave and electric motors dont sound harsh. the only complaint is the cheap fans

Excellent product, very fair price.
I tested this inverter with a microwave oven that would not operate on a different brand 1000 Watt true sine wave inverter. I discovered that the microwave draws approx. 1100 watts, and is a highly reactive load, which is apparently too much for the older 1000 watt inverter, even though it was rated at 2000 watt surge. The Samlex more than met my expectations, since it runs the microwave, a small fridge, and evaporative cooler all at the same time, if needed. I thought it had a bad GFIC, because when I first took it out of the box, I pressed the test button, and then could not get it to reset. It was my fault... I hadn't read the instructions at that point which do say that it has to be connected to 12 VDC, and producing AC power for the GFIC to work. After I connected it to the battery bank, the GFIC reset and works flawlessly. The 2 year warranty is twice as long as most others in this general price range. I would recomend to anyone who needs to use an inverter to run motors continously, to get a true sine inverter, as I have found that the motors will run cooler, quieter, longer, and more efficiently. By making the extra investment up front, it pays you back with intrest, in the long run. Lots of useful and easy to understand information and specs. on the Samlex website and in the operators manual. I recieved the inverter last week, so I can't speak to how it will hold up long term, but from the testing I have done so far, it is an excellent value.

Before you buy
These things should never be hit or miss. I was upgrading from a tiger claw 1500 pure sine to this product. By all accounts after having to deal with The Samlex 2000 pure sine I wish I didn't "upgrade". The Tiger claw was a fine inverter and sometime surpassed its expectations. If your reading this and need an inverter with a similar on the smaller side of capacity go by yourself a Tiger Claw 1500 pure sine. The first one I was sent took over 3 weeks to arrive. This inverter is used in my RV in a 630 watt/600 ah battery setup. I was going on a august trip and would have liked to have it installed. So it came, open the box and inspect the condition.. Its looks new and okay so I spend a half day installing this item in a custom vented compartment that I built. Plugged in, all wires and cables are triple checked and I throw the switch, lights on great, then I add a load to the inverter.. and NOTHING. No voltage. I go threw all the steps again, double check the reset button on the outlet. Nothing. Email the buyer, send it back to us and we will send it back to the company. Hell I just called the company. After a condescending conversation over the phone the company realized their product doesn't function. Sed it back and we will send you another one. Drive two hours threw traffic in a suburb of Philadelphia to find a UPS facility to accept return billing for shipping.Wait a week and the new one arrives! This time put the thing on a bench and hook a power supply up. The inverter seems to work, everything seems to be in order. Back to the RV, fit the thing back in that compartment hook everything up and turn on the load. Okay the load is electrified, but why isn't the remote switch working? I do everything to check and recheck the install steps, no working remote. Damm now to call them back, "Hey this remote that came with the new box doesn't work'?, oh I learned its not the remote its the inverter that is malfunctioning. So back to pulling this uncomfortable hunk of junk out of my RV again. My unpleasant 2 hour dive to drop off the 2nd return. Yes I am fuming.. "Oh our products are top notch", blah blah blah.. So the third one finally came, I called an electrician friend this time cause hey, these things are just boxes of junk. We both carefully on video open and test the replacement. It appears to work. I install it and it doesn't take as long cause by now I have a routine down. So everything is working lets see what how the wattage rating goes? Well my friends it does hit 2000 watts..barely. The surge IS NOT 4000 watts.. it was closer to 2000, yes I said 2000 watts. By now I wasted days, anger, frustration over a brand name I believed was above average.I am now waiting for this thing to fail. It only a matter of time. I SHOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT THIS INVERTER. I should have stuck with the Tiger Claw 1500. The appearance of sideward solder cord plugs just should have been the biggest red flag. This is an inferior product made with deficient materials. Absolute piece of junk. As I said I am just waiting for it to fail. Seller was less than helpful and the company just hopes you grow tired and go away. (Sorry that was unfair of me, the company did give me a coffee mug for my troubles)

great inverter and excellent customer service!!!
So I bought this Samlex 2000w inverter a few years ago and had it professionally installed into my Winnebago RV Motorhome. This thing is solid and NEVER EVER had any problems with it and we've driven from California to Oregon and back as well as beach trips etc... just a well-built, reliable inverter that never let us down. Well, I made the mistake of accidentally switching the inverter on when the batteries were being externally charged which I thought may have blown the fuses but I just found out had fried the whole inverter... totally my fault!! Well, I emailed Samlex asking if they could suggest options for repair and an amazing person from Samlex customer service named Vladimir emailed me back right away and saved the day!!! Even though I was out-of-warranty, Vladimir offered to get me a refurbished model and just cover shipping. THAT IS A+ CUSTOMER SERVICE, FOLKS!!!! THANK YOU, VLADIMIR and another excellent job by Samlex!!!!!!
