Works Just As Described
Ordered this for my 8 year old granddaughter who loves STEM. She assembled it with some minor guidance from grandparents. At first it did not work properly. But after some analysis we found that the magnets on the feet were positioned in the wrong place AND the motor cover screws really were not tight enough. Once we fixed both issues, the robot worked just fine and easily climbs up the fridge. The customer service response from Cassie was within an hour or so and very through. The one thing I would note is that the phone number listed at the bottom of the back page of the instructions is incorrect. But, Cassie did respond very quickly to my email inquiry. Great toy for kids! Would buy it again.

Might Have to Trouble Shoot, But Fun
The first time we put it together it just made a grinding gears sound and didn't move at all. So we took it apart to check the gears, and indeed something had slipped out of place, so we re-positioned it and tried again. The second time it did move the way it was supposed to, but only if we held the center part of the robot's body. If we put it down, when it attempted to move the gears just made the grinding sound again as if the weight of the center part of its body was too heavy for the gears to move. We decided to give it a third try, so we took it all apart again, fit the gears together very carefully and screwed it together very tightly, and low and behold, when we turned it on it worked just it was supposed to! As a parent trying to teach my kid a little about robotics and engineering I was happy to have it not work the first and second time and have the conversations with my kid about what might have gone wrong. We decided together that it deserved 4 stars. Overall fun, educational, and worth the price.

Does not climb up my fridge nor doors. But not bad depending on how important that is to you.
It does not climb up walls. I don’t know if it’s my doors or fridge, I tired it on both and it just slides down. It is fun to watch it walk. Use the right size screw driver or it will not work. It did not work. But overall not a bad project

Lots of fun for kids!
The media could not be loaded. Was a ton of fun putting this together with my daughter. If the gears make a grinding noise all you have to do is tighten the 3 screws. Climbs the fridge just fine. Right now she is having it climb up some steps she made out of books!

Cool idea. Needed an adult and a lot of patience to get it to work.
We followed the directions and the legs moved UNTIL we attached the feet. Then the gears would just grind. I was about to post a negative review and I saw some of the reviews here. I played around with the gears then tightened the screws further than I would have otherwise and it worked. But the amount of tightening required was far more than my kids could apply.

Awesome kids toy.
My kids absolutely love this toy! They are 3 and 6. I will say my husband had to glue the magnets back on but I’m not sure if it’s because of the three year old playing with it non stop or not! On amazon to purchase a second one as this was a Christmas gift from a relative.

Breaks easily. Put a blanket and pillows around the fridge so when it falls it survives.
We liked building it instructions should mention what not to do so you dont have to rebuild it 3 times. It did mention it could fall and will break so they know this is a problem yet sell it to you anyway. 3time up the fridge fell and broke. My 7 year old had maybe 5 minutes of fun. Disappointing. I would not recommend this toy. Breaks easily.

Not working on our Fridge
Robot needed adult assembly... but not difficult to put together. However, robot magnets stick to our fridge and robot is unable to move. Robot does walk fine along regular flat or angeled surfaces (non-magnetic). My kid has enjoyed exploring what surfaces or angles he can use to manipulate the robot. My kid also has striped gears in other toys before, and he does done well with this one, turning it off before the awful gear-grinding sound runs too long. So it has survived a few days with preschool kids use. (5 yr old and 2 yr old) We are going to try different (less strong) magnets for walking up surfaces, but our fridge was a no-go...
